LOCATION Directions from the A120 – from the South/Great Dunmow(10 miles and approximately 18minutes travelling by car).

From Great Dunmow High Street,take the B184 signposted toThaxted. Continue on, passingthrough Great Easton and stay onthis road until you reach Thaxtedtown centre. Pass through the towncentre, where you will see theGuildhall on your left. Continue upthe hill (Watling St) where the roadbears sharp right by The Swanhotel/pub.

At this point the road name changesto Newbiggen Street, but it is still theB184 to Saffron Walden. Continuealong the B184 until you see theB1051, Sampford Road, on the righthand side. Turn onto the B1051 andyou will find Thatcher's Grange onthe right hand side, just past BellropeMeadow.

Directions from the A11 – from the North/Saffron Walden(11.6 miles and approximately 21minutes travelling by car).

Take Junction 9A off the A11,signposted Saffron Walden and thenat the first roundabout take the firstexit onto the B184. Continue alongthe B184, bypassing Gt Chesterfordand Little Chesterford on your rightand keep going until you reachSaffron Walden. Stay on this road -the B184 will now become the HighSt. Continue down to the bottom ofthe hill and turn left at the trafficlights into George Street (still theB184). At the mini roundabout, takethe second exit (still B184). Continueuntil the traffic lights and crossroads,where you turn right, signposted toThaxted (still B184). Follow this roadfor approximately six miles until youreach the B1051 Sampford Rd, onyour left. Turn into Sampford Rd andyou will find Thatcher's Grange onyour right, just after BellropeMeadow.
