Increasingly printers want to capitalise on its environmental footprint, compact design, daylight working and high quality metal plates for jobbing and full colour work so I was delighted to win bms’ order”. Paul Brown, Bascom-bms’s managing director enthused: “At the end of a recession it is the companies who invest that will forge ahead. BMS are always looking for ways to service customers better and reduce the environmental impact as Bristol heads towards being European Green Capital in 2015”. Celebrating 20 years of printing and packing envelopes Bascom-BMS wanted to improve efficiency, reduce energy and remove chemistry & film from their platemaking process whilst continuing to provide mailing & fulfilment services to companies around the globe. Through www.Bascom.co.uk they support a number of local and national charities and have a very Eco friendly production process. Having carried out successful plate tests on their Halm 6” Super Jet envelope printing press, to ensure the Glunz and Jensen met their quality & run requirements, they invested in a Platewriter 2000.
