TASTING NOTE Sourced from our Hazel’s Vineyard, the fruit for the BDX wine is all grown biodynamically. A Malbec dominant blend (49%) with Cabernet Sauvignon (36%) and Petite Verdot (15%) add complexity and savouriness to balance the fruit power of the Malbec. A seductive nose of cherry reduction, cocoa beans and freshly picked blueberries, with wild lavender lingering in the background The palate is voluminous and powerful. Ripe boysenberry and blackcurrant dominate from start to finish. The tannins are silky and long, and persist for eons. Subtle cocoa oak pro- vides the perfect accompaniment. A floral and delicious wine. Winemakers Comments: A warm spring with a full water table ensured good flowering and crop set. Summer was moderate with a large rain event mid vintage ensuring wines were never stressed. Post fermentation, the wines were pressed to French barriques in our underground cellar. Wines were matured on malolactic lees for 15 months before being racked and bottled with no filtration.
