Triple Murder Suspect Pleads Guilty to

Three Counts of Murder in the Second Degree

Rochester, NY- Today, 36 year old Andre McFarlane plead guilty to three counts of Murder in

the 2nd

Degree for the February 22, 2014 Murder of three victims, 24 year old Michael Nelson,24 year old Jaqueline Simmons, and 21 year old Jermeliah Simmons. As part of the plea

agreement, Andre McFarlane admitted his role in the 2014 murder of all three victims. Under

the terms of the plea agreement McFarlane will be sentenced to 15 years to life in prison for each

of the three counts of Murder, to be served concurrently. As part of his plea agreementMcFarlane is required to testify at the trial of his co-defendants and he waived his right to any

future appeal. McFarland, an illegal alien from Jamaica, will be deported back to Jamaica after

serving his 15 year to life sentence.

The case was prosecuted by First Assistant District Attorney Kelly Wolford and Second

Assistant District Attorney Timothy Prosperi.

"With this plea we not only have one person taking responsibility for the murders we also secure

testimony against the two other defendants in the case. McFarlane was not the individual who

shot and killed these three people; however because of his role in the murders, the information he possesses about how the murders were carried out will be instrumental in securing convictions

for the two remaining defendants,” said Assistant District Attorney Kelly Wolford. “Today’s

plea is the direct result of nearly two years of amazing work by members of the Rochester Police

Department’s major crimes unit in conjunction with other state and federal law enforcementagencies. It was their hard work and dedication that ensured each person responsible for these

murders was brought to justice.”

Andre McFarlane will be sentenced on March 4, 2016 in front of Monroe County Court Judge

Vincent Dinolfo.
