10 Student feedback mechanism on institutional/faculty performance

There are multiple Mechanism at different levels for students feedback on Institute Governance/ Faculty Performance as given below: (i) There is a Faculty Advisor scheme where a batch of 60 students is further divided in two sections of 30 students each and for each Subsection; one faculty member is deputed as Faculty Advisor (FA), who acts as a Friend-Philosopher Guide to the students. The Faculty Advisor conducts a forthrightly meeting with its Subsection, where FA shares students attendance of last forthright with them, discusses shortage of attendance on individual student basis if any, takes feedback on teaching, learning difficulties, difficulties related to administration & other Campus Facilities etc. The feedback is noted by FA and depending upon level and severity of the problem, the FA either coordinates on himself for its resolution or escalates it to the HOD for further redressal. In case of the issues related to Faculty Performance, the HOD takes up the issue with concerned faculty member directly or indirectly to ensure the rectification of problem. For all administrative and academic issues beyond his authority and control, the HOD escalates the same to the concerned higher authorities of the College and facilitates timely redressal to the students. (ii) There is another provision of direct students feedback on the Faculty Performance as well as other facilities normally once in a semester, where the students’ feedback are then compiled, consolidated and summarized by HOD and submitted to the director for its review. (iii) Alternatively, in case of any emergent problem faced by student, individual student may write his/her grievance to HOD and /or DSW and /or Director of the college against which the concerned authority initiates remedial / redressal action on case to case basis.
