Hello everyone and welcome to MODCARDS!
I’m so excited that you have decided to join me in my first workshop here at Scrapaneers.
In this three-week workshop, you will be introduced to a modern style of design that will take you to a new level of creating simple, digital
scrapbooking cards. By using inspiration from my own scrapbooking layouts, we will be creating brand new digital MODern Cards each week. I will be focusing on design concepts such as typography, balance and flow and white space to bring to you a simple, graphic style of designing cards.

Typography is said to be one of the key essential concepts for a designer and their work. Using type to create visually, eye-catching elements on your project allows you to engage your audience and portray a “feeling” to what you’re designing. It is a means of communication and allows designers to
create designs that are appealing. When it comes to modern digital scrapbooking, typography allows you to
achieve a look that is simple and graphic. It is a powerful tool and when used properly, can make your projects unique.
Typography isn’t just about choosing a font and it’s size, it’s about what you do with them that matters. It’s about the colors you choose and how you
arrange the letters and words you create. Good design comes from using your own imagination and creativity!
Creating with type is fun and does add a unique element to your design so, as long as you understand the basics, designing with type has endless possibilities!
