erenity is etched into very corner of Montecito Beach Village, an intimate collection of beachfront Villas, located on a private peninsula on the Eastern tip of the prestigious, “Bahía de Conejos“ in Huatulco, Mexico.

Nature and elegant simplicity are the two pillars of its design. Montecito is the ideal blend of the region’s fascinating pre-Hispanic history, the rich Oaxacan culture and a relaxed yet sophisticated lifestyle.

The developers of the project, Greg Glassman and Howard Veneklasen, molded the basic framework of the concept and reached out to world-renowned architect Diego Villaseñor to realize their ideas and turn their vision into reality. “After 10 minutes with Diego we knew we shared the same vision”, says Greg. Diego was elected to create the master plan of the community and the prototypes off each Villa.

Prime site locations of the 12-acre peninsula were not confiscated by private Villas but were assigned to common areas allowing every owner of the opportunity to enjoy spectacular views from these exceptional sites. Prior to beginning of the construction a weather station was installed to study the course of the sun, the breezes and other natural factors that would assist in determining the perfect location and orientation of each Villa.

Each of the Villas was designed in concert with it’s owner to ensure it perfectly met their needs, personal preferences and lifestyle while remaining cohesive to Montecito’s organic style.

Most of the owners chose to work with LM interior to shape the interior design of the house.

Montecito Beach Village boasts a solar substation to produce electricity and reduce its carbon footprint.

The community cultivates private gardens to supply fresh vegetables and spices for the exquisite cuisine of Oaxacan Chef, Claudia Jordán, who prepares culinary sensations at the Beach Club.

Traditional coastal construction techniques and materials were used to erect this exclusive community such as; Palapa roofs made of hand-woven palm leaves, regional stones and wooden structures made of Guanacastle and Bejuco wood, treated with natural oils to preserve their beautiful aromas and textures.

UP Live serenity in the Villas of Montecito. Enjoy marvelous ocean views in a pure and natural environment RIGHTPrescision and the passion for detail provide an atmosphere of sophistication and luxury taking visitors back to the essence of simplicity.

Greg states that, “the layout of each Villa is designed to be used for the rest of your life”, as the master bedroom & bathroom, living room, guest bathroom, pool terrace, kitchen and infinity pool are all located on the main entry floor allowing the owner to live without the need of stairs. Similarly, the Cala Beach Club is effortlessly accessed by a wooden funicular just a few steps away from the shore.

Every tiny detail of the property is extraordinary, drawing inspiration from the concept of integrating of the human habitat into the natural environment. Fiber optic lighting gently illuminates the Beach Club's pool at night, glowing like an enormous constellation. The Loma Lounge and Lagoon is planned to be nestled on the summit of the property between several hundred-year-old cacti and offers stellar panoramic views of the mountains, coastline and ocean.

Although Montecito appears to be enshrined in the depths of the jungle, it is only a few minutes away from a championship 18 hole golf course and the vivid city of Huatulco.

Greg and Howard’s philosophy is to preserve the natural environment. To put that idea into practice, they reduced the use of heavy machinery for excavation and transportation of construction material.

As a result of this practice the vegetation has been wonderfully well preserved making Montecito appear to have grown out of its surroundings.

Extraordinary Artworks of Oaxacan artists adorn common areas and Villas. The mural in the Welcome Centre, created by Artist Adan Paredes, represents the metamorphosis a person may go through when entering Montecito for the first time and Oaxacan Artist José Luis García, well known for painting with the ink of the “caracol purpura” (Sea Snail) is similarly featured throughout the community.

As of today Montecito has 6 spacious Villas with a master plan calling for a maximum of 30 Villas to be constructed with careful consideration of the intimacy and exclusivity of the Village.

After having lived the Montecito Beach Village experience I must say that this magical place not only captivate visitors with beautiful & ample Villas and magnificent landscapes, but also with the passion that Greg & Howard have scribed into every last detail of the place which is contagious to anyone who walks its paths.

"I was ALWAYS CERTAIN that ANY project I DID, would respect nature's

foot print. FOR me the NATURE is the LUXURY", GREG GLASSMAN.
