A LETTER FROM OUR PASTOR

November 17, 2013

Dear Co-laborers in Christ, "To God be the Glory for the great things He has done!” It is with great reflection as well as thanksgiving that I am able to experience 17 years of Pastoring this great church and people. God has been loving, gracious, merciful, faithful and miraculous toward the Macedonia Baptist Church. It is a blessing and a privilege to serve the Kingdom and God's people as I seek to equip the Saints for the work of ministry. For 105 years the Macedonia Baptist Church has been Worshipping and witnessing in the community. I am thankful to

share in such a rich history while "Transforming Lives through the Discipleship of Jesus Christ." God has blessed us a congregation of witnesses to share in the work of ministry together. I am thankful for all of those persons that I have been able to mutually labor with throughout these years. There are numerous persons that have prayed, encouraged, supported and walked with me in the faith. To each one and for each one I say thank you. I am thankful for my family in their love and support as they have taken this journey of faith with me. As we move into the days ahead, let us move with faith and a witness of love. The future is bright and there is a great work to be done. These past years have been experienced one day at a time. I invite you to join me in the days ahead by reflecting on the words written by author Ellen White in her work "In Steps to Christ," "Consecrate yourself to God in the morning; make this your very first work.” Let your prayer be, “Take me, O Lord, as wholly Thine. I lay all my plans at Thy feet. Use me today in Thy service. Abide with me, and let all my work be wrought in Thee.” This is a daily matter. Each morning consecrate yourself to God for that day. Surrender all your plans to Him, to be carried out or given up as His providence shall indicate. Thus, day by day, you may be giving your life into the hands of God, and thus, your life will be molded more and more after the life of Christ.

In His Service,

Dr. Leonard L. Hamlin, Sr. Pastor

GOD’S INSTRUMENT

I see the hands that hold God’s word

And hold in prayer to seek His will.

I see the feet that walk the path

And offers of praise as from lofty hill.

I see the hands that serve Him well,

The ears that seek to hear His call,

The mouth that speaks truth and wisdom,

The busy feet that carry the message to all.

I see the heart that was pricked and entered

When God’s man answered the gospel call

And yielded His life as a humble servant,

A man who is willing, as was Apostle Paul.

I see all of this as he stands in the pulpit,

An instrument through which God speaks

The words of wisdom, of love and peace,

To lead and guide all those whom God seeks.
