Broadening Horizons
Over the past year, the IESE MBA graduates of 2018 have explored an increasingly broad range of career paths. Overall, 94% of our students have at least one job offer within three months of graduation*.
Our students participate in a global transformational experience. Our international setting enables MBAs to work with classmates from nearly 60 different nationalities and cultures. The environment uniquely prepares our students for global roles post-MBA, with 62% of them changing geographical location upon accepting employment after graduation. As always, demand for IESE MBAs remained high among consulting, finance and technology, with an increased presence particularly in Fintech.
The mission of IESE’s MBA Career Development Center (CDC) is to partner with companies, helping them find the best talent for their organizations by recruiting IESE MBAs, and to equip students with the right tools, resources and mindsets to help them drive their careers forward, not only during the MBA journey but for the rest of their lives.

Internships serve multiple purposes. For students, they are an opportunity to try something different, gain perspective, acquire new knowledge and skills, and make valuable business connections. For recruiters, this experience is a great opportunity to ask students to bring their fresh perspective to existing business challenges and assess their long-term suitability for employment in their company.
The Summer Entrepreneurship Experience provides our MBAs with an opportunity to pursue their entrepreneurial ambitions. It is a forum for students to productively use their summer to further develop entrepreneurial projects, and it enables students to test out the entrepreneurial career path.
Many IESE students pursue formally established Corporate MBA Internships. Industries commonly offering these internships include management consulting, investment banking and MBA rotational programs in tech, healthcare, consumer goods, and others.
Some students seek a specialized experience to gain exposure to a new industry or function, often in a less structured setting. Companies of all sizes participate in internship projects.
MBA InternshipsStudents can explore a broad array of roles, sectors and geographical regions through summer internships between the first and second year.
“The IESE MBA enables you to better manage yourself and others,
providing you with a solid, technical business insight and a well-rounded general management perspective.
You make decisions, you fail, you learn, you persevere, you grow, you make your mark. IESE transforms you into a better
leader and a better human being.”José Manuel Aynat (MBA’18)

The consulting sector remains the most popular destination for IESE MBAs, attracting some 31% of the Class of 2018. Of these, over 60% were career changers without prior experience in consultancy.
Consulting roles require knowledge of local languages and markets, so fewer students relocate geographically to accept these roles. That said, 2018 saw a wide geographical spread of placements, encompassing 24 countries over five continents.
ConsultingIESE is a target school for the world’s top consulting firms. International recruiters come to campus to seek out talented graduates for internships and full-time employment opportunities.
