Management Body Audit Output

Quarter 4 | Week 3

Page 2: MB Audit Output - October 2015

More than 90% of the MB is not satisfied with the last 30 days of their term.

Only 3 teams have performed decently in the month of October. Good work, Meet Shah, Harriet & Esha.

33 MB members, and 3 have achieved something. This means that less than 10% of the GB have learned something in October.

You have 2 months left, to make something out of your MB term.

“Greatness is not primarily a matter of circumstance. Greatness is first and foremost a matter of conscious choice and discipline.”

Overall Inferences

● MembershipYour first responsibility as a Team Leader is to make sure your members have everything they need, in order to achieve what you have set out to, as a team.If you believe you have given them that, and they’re still struggling, there must be something amiss. Create a feedback loop, and figure out what it is. Don’t wait for them to come to you.

● CircumstancesExams, members out of town, disengaged members, the list goes on.

“Shallow men believe in luck, believe in circumstances,Strong men believe in cause and effect.”

- Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Victory awaits him who has everything in order. Luck, people call it.”- Ronald Amundsen

● AlignmentMost Back Office MB members seem to be operating independently. None of their MoSs mention any exchange contribution.Look at the bigger picture. How is what you’re doing affecting AIESEC in Mumbai as an LC? How are you making a difference?Create MoSs that convey that.

It’s all about YOU.

Individual Feedback/Inferences

● Focus is something that comes automatically when you realize to prioritise.

● When you lead a team you do not depend on them. Instead, your team depends on you. Directing them in the right direction is what you need to work on.

● Sometimes it so happens that you know you are going through a phase when nothing is falling in place and you know about it. But can’t help it :(

● About Indecisiveness:“If you’re not embarrassed with the first version of your product, you launched too late.”Don’t overthink. Action begets results. Inaction guarantees stagnancy and hence, failure.

● Your Mos mention productivity and clicks, while your achieved don’t tangify anything. You have no idea if what you’re doing is productive, or helping anyone. And you will never know unless you find out.

● You’ve written 3 things in your JD. Internal Comm is the only thing you’ve been doing. That’s 33% T vs. A. LnD Manager not doing LnD.

● Zero Forums attended (Dept + LC)It’s not a phase if you let it go on.

Get off your ass, and get your shit together.

● Exams and other stuff will always be there.

● In spite of all these if you are able to make progress even on a small level is commendable.

● As a Team Leader, your first priority is your team.Yes, you need to improve your team culture. Meeting them is the first step. Ask them about their experience till now and what you can improve on. Maybe approach us :D

Page 11: MB Audit Output - October 2015

● Timing is everything in BO. You lose your target by an hour FO can lose it by a day.

● You’re one of the seniormost MB members, and have been a role model to the MB. Right now, you seem to be losing your way. You know you can do much better things, if only you put your mind to it.And there’s a reason you’re not doing that. Solve that problem, and you’re golden. We’re a call away, if you’d like to have a conversation.

● Do mention in figures number of posts.

“The signature of mediocrity is not the unwillingness to change. The signature of mediocrity is chronic inconsistency.”

It’s been said that “Monotony is the awful reward of the careful.” Have the courage to do the thing you’ve never done – at work, with your significant other, for yourself. No matter the setting, you’ll only get what you’ve never had by doing something new and different. Dare to dream. Dare to color outside the lines. Dare to explore, for the sake of exploration. There are countless ways to exhibit creativity in your daily life – not just painting or writing. The more you unleash your own creative mojo, the better you’ll be able to accomplish your dreams.

Where will you start?

● Empowering Others - one of our core values. In everything we do, we enable our members to rise up and be able to do it themselves. You are in a leadership role, not a do-it-yourself one.

● Member leaves. Exam cycle. = Circumstances.

However much you try to convince yourself, we are not bound by our circumstances. Although we can control only a tiny silver of what happens to us, we are still free to choose. Free to become Great by Choice.

● Like how you have mentioned everything in such a detailed manner. You seem to be very self-aware, knowing exactly where you went wrong, and are working on improving it. Good going. :)We recommend you create a continuous feedback loop, in order to help you do this better.

● Team Meets are something that are needed not be only to discuss targets. Spending time with them will not only improve your bond with them but also allow them to believe in your vision/team vision.

Page 15: MB Audit Output - October 2015

● When you start procrastinating it’s not only you who does it. Eventually it’s your entire team which goes through the same. And then getting everyone back together is the real deal.

● Don’t compromise on things just because you feel the time has passed.Ask yourself what the core problem is.

Acknowledging that a problem exists is the first step toward solving it.

● The primary role of a team leader is to ensure that his/her team has everything they need in order to achieve their goals. If you say you’ve given them that, and they’re yet not performing, there must be something lacking. Think about it.

● Plan a Work Day, co-create with them. They can learn from you that way. And double check if they understand everything perfectly.

● Detailing, really appṁreciate that.● You seemed to have understood your Job as a part of MB

and as a TL pretty fast. Also, your understanding about your team is commendable.Good going!

● Now what you need to do is tighten up ‘coz a lot is left to be covered. You have huge market to tap on. Plan your coming weeks on how are you going to achieve your targets.

Page 18: MB Audit Output - October 2015

● You have a wonderful team, made up of hardworking members. Seeing that only one of them has achieved something in the past 2 weeks is worrisome.Your primary job role as a team leader is making sure your members have everything they need to be where they want to be. You do that with this team, and you’ll be #Winning.

● This week it was boards, it will be something else the next week. You can either let these things define you, or consciously define how you’re going to work in the environment you’re in.

that they can work on from there. And the one who is in the city ask them to work on ground.

● Virtual team meet is better than no team meet.● You will receive a reply about your feedback soon.

● Congratulations on being the most operational member of your team. Loved the responsibility and initiative you took during isolation.

● Where is the resource hub? Where is the MB scoreboard? No one knows about it unless it’s released, hence even 99% complete doesn’t count. Make it happen. #Last60Days

● You either control your environment, or it controls you.Consciously understand the various factors affecting your work, and work on a way to manage all of them.

● None of your members have achieved anything in October.Your primary job role as a team leader is making sure your members have everything they need to be where they want to be. You do that with this team, and you’ll be #Winning.

● A team gets engaged when they meet and know each other well. You agree that irregular team meets is slacking your team’s productivity but then isn’t everyone facing the same?

● Consistency is what makes thing fall in place. Co-Create a timeline with your team. All you need to do after that is follow up to make sure things are happening.

Page 24: MB Audit Output - October 2015

● How is circulating messages an MoS?If you’re saying that’s all your team has been doing in the past 2 weeks, without any conversion, think about what their learning is.

● UR is a little complicated right now but what other options do you have?If it’s not working, make another plan and execute. There’s no use reminiscing over something that you’re sure won’t happen.

● 2 months to the end of the year. Your sign ups need to be converted 15 days ago. Plan. Execute. Track. Repeat.

● Except for Mayank what have other members of your team done? NLs? That’s it?

● Conduct a team meet. Give them a particular JD and a supporting work, so that you know who is responsible for what.

● What more can you digitalise? Go, get out and think!

Page 26: MB Audit Output - October 2015

● You were there at the top when things turned bad and then you took things in your own hand and made them happen. It’s time for you to #MakeItHappen

● Focus on your team, they are your only strength.

● Find your inner purpose. Hence, find your direction, and you’ll be better equipped to give others (your team) direction.Shepherds are here to help you.

● No regrets about tangibles if you think your team has understood everything clearly and are ready to execute. But then how well have they understood that matters.

● Split the work among all the members so that each of them have a main center JD and other supporting work around it.

Page 28: MB Audit Output - October 2015

● Failure is when you have fired a member without providing them opportunities to prove them self.

● You’re satisfied with your MB term, even though you’ve achieved nothing in the past 30 days? What is it that you’re satisfied about?

● Work on what’s not falling in place and what are other ways in which you can help.

● Work days in Thane <3. Indeed AIESEC Mumbai is expanding.● You can not mention LCM election movie after this week in

your audits. What are you going to do then?● Global Home should work regardless of the fact that this

is India.● Host perspective is important. If you are able to make

Global Home happen on a larger scale imagine how much time will FO have to focus on their core role.

Page 30: MB Audit Output - October 2015

● If your member productivity was 100% then you should have finished all the team targets by now. Have you?

● Good job with Techwreck!● Imagine how random it will be if you have direct

Semesters and no Unit test. You won’t come to know what you need to focus on and do a follow up with to understand things better. Same goes for team.

Page 31: MB Audit Output - October 2015

● Really appreciate the fact that you have mentioned things in such a detailed manner.

● If you feel you have developed a good team culture then why do you regret of not having a follow up. Your follow up should have come from your members.

● You have enough raises in hand get more and start matching simultaneously.

Page 32: MB Audit Output - October 2015

Raghav

● What is 0-3 matches?● So expect for you none of your members have achieved

anything. What are you members doing then?● Invest time in them so that they do the core job and you

can focus on other important stuff like delivery and matching.

Page 33: MB Audit Output - October 2015

● What you have achieved individually is different from what your members have.

● Try taking a step back. Think what your target is and what needs to be done about it. Plan how are you going to move forward and then have a team meet. Talk to them on how you are going to capitalise your avenue.

● Read Simran B’s slide regarding the iXP Campaign failure.

● Random action brings random and inconsistent results. Your actions need to be aligned with the direction in which the LC wants to be heading.Everything you do, should be based in data.

● Consistency is key. #20MileMarch

● You only regret the things that you don’t do.You’re a doer. Focus your energies in the right direction, and great things will happen.

Page 35: MB Audit Output - October 2015

● You’ve done a lot, but they haven’t yielded the results you wanted them. Take a minute to analyze why. What is it that went wrong? How can you learn from this and direct your efforts in the right direction in the next 60 days?

● 80 new recs and only 1 iXP.By far the worst iXP conversion AIESEC in Mumbai has seen in the past 3 years. You’re directly impacting the talent pool of 2016. Imagine an LC with little or no iXPs. Scary, isn’t it?

What you are doing is much bigger than you, or your team.Plan (empirically), Execute, Track, Repeat.

● GTo has been doing well in recent times and has emerged as a strong department. You’ve been one of the people who’ve made that happen.

● You’ve just taken up this leadership role, and hence you need to make a conscious effort to get the team to trust you, and hence build a work ethic, and hence momentum within your team.

● Focus on the team part. You are going consistently and if you improve your team’s connect, you might just be able to achieve what you have planned for!

● An untapped open market waiting to convert and still 1 match. What’s wrong?

● Is your team organised and knows what has to be done? or is it only you who feels the load.

● Have a team work day. Co-create it with your team. Add team review as a part of it and compare how was it expected to go and how is it going currently.

Page 38: MB Audit Output - October 2015

● Our on ground presence needs to improve and only your team can make a difference here.

● Why partnerships take long to convert? ‘coz we are not known to many and how can many know us if we go on ground and show them our way.

● Team looks strong but only if you achieve your targets our strength will be displayed. Think in terms of exchange contribution.

Look at the bigger picture.

Page 39: MB Audit Output - October 2015

● 3 senior members and 1 new Rec and the new Rec has contributed the most. Are they on the same page? Or is there a feeling of let her do everything?I don’t see any productivity from the other 3 members of your team, which automatically reflects on your performance as their leader.

● If one is cracking MoUs and partnerships make others support that person. In any way that they can. But ensure that they don’t split in other directions.

● Distribution of work is indeed important and should be worked upon ASAP.It’s one of the fundamentals.
