Hello Key Clubbers!

As we head toward the end of the school year, I would like to thank you for all

the service you have given thus far in our new term. Even though this new term

only started a couple of months ago, the amount of change we have made is

incredible. From raising money for Pennies for Patients to volunteering at

numerous events this month, all of you have truly encompassed the core values

of a Key Clubber.

I hope that you all are successful with your testing in the next month. I know it is

stressful, but you all will do wonderful. Please continue volunteering for the few

service events that we have planned and also don't forget to buy a Yuda Band

to support Jose Miranda's education!

Thank you all again for being the best club ever!!! I love you all to the moon and

back.

Township Carnival

On Friday April 24th, I volunteered at the Township Carnival.

At this carnival there were many opportunities to serve and I

was assigned to work at the prize booth. At this spot, I had to

give kids prizes in exchange for tickets. Seeing the smiles on

a kids face when they got a big prize was absolutely

amazing and I can't wait to be able to serve at another

carnival.

Eliminate Week

From May 4th to the 8th, a variety of key Clubbers pitched in

to sell pins, wristbands, flowers, and stuffed animals for Project

Eliminate. Eliminate is a project compiled by both Kiwanis and

UNICEF, to help eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus

from third world countries. For every $1.80 raised, we have

enough for three doses of the vaccine, which is enough to

save a mother and her child. With support like this all over the

world, we could help eliminate MNT from the entire world.

Round Up

On May 18th, I helped the Kiwanis with their Nacho Truck at

Round Up! This annual event is a Western festival for everyone to

enjoy a nice day at. I was able to help prepare and serve

nachos to all of the attendees along in order to help our Kiwanis

raise money! Working with them is always a joy and I cannot wait

for another Kiwanis related event.

From 24-26 April, I had the opportunity to attend

Key Leader Santa Barbara as a student facilitator. I

had gone to this event the previous year, but it was

a whole new experience for me. Instead of just

casually participating in the many activities at Key

Leader, I was leading them. At Not only was the

whole experience amazing and educational it was

truly inspiring. You’d think that after attending Key

Leader already that there wouldn’t be anything

else to take from it, but I stilled learned a lot of new

things about myself as a person and as a leader.

Tons of memories and friendships were made that

weekend and I wouldn’t change that for the world.

For anyone that wants to develop their leadership

skills, learn about or improve themselves, or just

have a good time, I’d definitely recommend going

to Key Leader.

Key Leader was absolutely amazing! I met so

many new people from all over California

and became closer with my “community”

by playing fun, yet challenging games. The

scenery was so pretty and there was a giant

teeter totter for my group to go on. I’m so

happy I came to Key Leader because it

helped me become a better person and

learn about different kinds of leadership.
