President’s Message
The snow has disappeared! So have all our events!! We will still get organized for the fall – hopefully we can resume our activities then!! In my view, part of the success of the ASSC has been the enjoyment of members working together, in the name of art, towards successful events, workshops, etc. We must be careful that we do not lose that camaraderie and feeling of belonging while this pandemic takes us apart. The day will come again when we can be together and create and discuss and learn and laugh! I am happy that members are enjoying the FaceBook Drop-In Paint group. There is such inspiration there.. much needed in these times.
Enjoy the slow down in your life, and direct your mind to creating something beautiful, meaningful and colorful.
Take care and stay healthy !!
Regards Sonja
MEMBER’S CORNER: Next Board Meeting: Tuesday, MAY 5, – 6:30 pm via email. The May and June General Meetings are cancelled. Ready your garage sale items for another time!
Let’s reminiscence a little ! Time to look through the albums! Remember when:? Who and what do you recognize?
Loft Gallery and Gift Shop
CLOSED
The Loft Gallery and Gift Gallery have been closed until further notice due to guidelines recommended by Alberta Health Services during the Covid-19 pandemic. Current artists in the Loft Gallery and Gift Gallery have been asked to leave their pieces in place until the gallery can open again. We will not be soliciting new artists for a May-June show. Should we be able to open before June 30, the current show will carry on. Current artists have been notified of these changes. We thank you for your understanding as we navigate this uncertain time. Stay safe, stay well and keep on creating!

VOLUNTEER HOURS: Please continue to record your volunteer hours in the book located in the drawer to the left of the kitchen sink (or at home and insert them into the binder before you enter a show and at year end) These hours will enable you to show your artwork and they are also part of the application for the ASSC’s annual AFA grant.
Please stop at the Welcome Table on your way into meetings and sign in for the evening. This is important for the ASSC meeting attendance record and it may become important to you too if you are planning on showing your artwork at ASSC shows.
Volunteers!
Volunteers are just ordinary people with extraordinary hearts...
....they offer the gift of their time to teach, to listen, to help, to inspire, to build, to grow, and to learn.
...they expect no pay, yet the value of their work knows no limit ...they have known the unexpected joy of a simply hug ...they have planted tiny seeds of love in countless lives
Volunteers are just ordinary people who reach out and take a hand, lead, and together make a difference that lasts a lifetime.
