Delighted to report our President Carmel was able to attend Ser-vice on Sunday, and was welcomed by all.. So glad Jenny Havebond was able to bring her along.

We should be all recharged after the Easter break, and now we move into May, with a full programme. So many interesting things ahead.. Further classes in development, workshops, and a visit from Jason McDonald, after a break of almost 10 years.

Coffee Club is settling in, with lively discussion, and opportunity to meet members not usually in our group. Great initiative!

Welcome to the cooler weather. Our air/con is set for the cooler season, and we should be comfortable right through Winter.

Our classes and Circles are doing well, and planning is underway for the Annual Retreat at Tocal College. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet and relax with other members, with accommodation and catering taken care of, no cares, just a relaxing time among like minded people.

Healing and Prayers to all those battling ill-health, both Assunta and Shirley Darby are far from well, indeed our prayers go out to all in strife.

So many ask to be added to our Healing list. Include them in your Meditations. Let’s all think of them and send blessings.

Let’s all be a bit proactive, as you see a task, at Church, no matter how small, that needs to be done, lend a hand, do it.

As you well know, we have no Staff, WE are our Church. Let’s all cherish and care for this amazing place.

Recently our speaker was unable to attend due to illness, and as always, members stepped up and took the Service. Was told we had five readers that day.! Thanks to you all, that’s what it’s all about. Annual Retreat at Tocal College will be held from Friday 16th June/17th & 18th. All members welcome to attend, numbers limited to 25, so don’t delay. Those attending, to arrive on Friday afternoon, and stay through till lunch time on Sunday. Church phones being changed over to NBN has caused lots of headaches, we have been without a connection at times. Marcia has been sent our second modem to enable connection. Telecom has made the whole process almost impossible. Our latest Charity raffle has been drawn. and prizes distributed. Debbie Bartlett organises each one, and the funds raised go to Kids’ Club at John Hunter Hospital. Thanks to our regularly supporters. There is no better cause. Doris May Fisher Stokes (January 6, 1920 - May 8, 1987), born Doris Sutton, was a British spiritualist and psychic medium.

She first came to public attention in 1978 during a visit to Australia, when she appeared on The Don Lane Show. In the wave of interest that followed her appearance, she played to three capacity audiences at the Sydney Opera House. She was also the first medium to appear at the London Palladium, with the tickets selling out in two hours. In 1980, her first, written with Linda Dearsley, autobiographical volume, Voices In My Ear: The Autobiography of a Medium was published, pulling her further into the public eye in the UK. Over two million copies of her books were sold. Our library contains a wonderful range of Doris’s books.

Lisa Williams, Medium

Lisa Williams is a gifted English medium, and one of the best known psychics worldwide. She became famous with her popular television shows Life Among the Dead, and Voices from the Other Side Lisa’s website states that she has seen spirits since she was a young child, and that her grandmother was also a medium. She also talks about how she never sought out do to readings for people, but word of mouth about her abilities spread like wildfire. I guess you could say it was meant to be! Lisa appeared at the Civic Theatre here in Newcastle, and was a delight to watch .

She currently hosts her own radio program, The Lisa Williams Show, and offers spiritual development classes.

Falling in love with Your Self Within my circle of meditation groups for some time now our channels have been stressing how important it is to love the self and who we are in the world. This idea is quite an adjustment from what our way of thinking and being has been for many decades of time. We were most often taught that to love oneself is selfish, and that we should love others rather than ourselves. BUT, times are changing with the renewed awareness of the ONEness of all. We are beginning to realise that it is most important to start loving the self so that we can more easily reach out and hold hands with all of humanity and life forms in love. It is time now for releasing old energies of pain and patterns of thinking that have been accumulating within all aspects of your physical beingness. It is time to revert to being the love that you are. This love is your birthright as we are all direct family descendants from God/Source, carrying that spark of unconditional love within our hearts. So, learning to love oneself is a MAJOR step towards re-connecting with our God-self, and as we do so we are helping to bring this planet back to love and peace - person by person, community by community; country by country. When you are in discomfort or are feeling disillusioned with your life and with yourself, be gentle with yourself and find a way to nurture your mind, body and spirit so that you can be the very best example of love and caring. Recently in meditation I was given the following beautiful and simple process to assist in bringing us back to love. Imagine a large container of your own choosing and colour in front of you. This container is filled with liquid love which could look like sparkling golden light or whatever colour/s you feel you'd like to envision. The colours may change from day to day – just allow whatever is given. There is a large ladle with this container. Now dip your ladle into this liquid love and pour it over yourself, seeing it fill your body and aura and envision it changing your vibration back to love. With each ladle of liquid love that you pour over yourself say the words “I love myself”, and “I love who I am”. FEEL the love vibrating through you and SMILE as you re-connect with the energies of it. We are finally experiencing some sunny warm Autumn weather today after rather tumultuous climatic conditions since Xmas this year. Autumn so far has been very wet, and a relief after high humidity experienced during the previous months. Now nature is blooming in all her Autumn glory as many trees and flowers are showing their beauty before the Winter months arrive. Autumn colours have yet to begin here on the coast in Newcastle. It has come to my attention that the Yucca plants are now in flower in my area. These flowers are so beautiful and have an amazing energy, so I thought I'd send you a reminder of the healing properties that the essence from these flowers have to offer. We found the perfect example of this truth in an anecdotal tale that’ll totally rock your life perspective. Check out the first hand, fictional account in the story below. The lesson it teaches is invaluable. I work in a decent sized, local, indie bookstore. It’s a great job 99% of the time and a lot of our customers are pretty neat people. Any how, middle of the day this little old lady comes up. She’s lovably kooky. She effuses how much she loves the store and how she wishes she could spend more time in it but her husband is waiting in the car. ‘OH! I BETTER BUY HIM SOME CHOCOLATE!’ She piles a bunch of art supplies on the counter and then stops and tells me how my bangs are beautiful and remind her of the ocean. ‘Woooooosh’ she says, making a wave gesture with her hand Ok. I think to myself. Awesomely happy, wild little old ladies are my favourite kind of customer. They’re thrilled about everything and they’re comfortably bananas. I can have a good time with this one. So we chat and it’s nice. Then this kid, who’s been up to my counter a few times to gather his school textbooks, comes up in line behind her (we’re connected to a major university in the city so we have a lot of harried students pass through). She turns around to him and, out of nowhere, demands that he put his textbooks on the counter. He’s confused but she explains that she’s going to buy his textbooks. He goes sheetrock white. He refuses and adamantly insists that she can’t do that. It’s like, $400 worth of textbooks! She, this tiny old woman, boldly takes them out of his hands, throws them on the counter and turns to me with an intense stare and tells me to put them on her bill. The kid at this point is practically in tears. He’s confused and shocked and grateful. Then she turns to him and says ‘you need chocolate.’ She starts grabbing handfuls of chocolates and putting them in her pile. He keeps asking her ‘why are you doing this?’ She responds ‘Do you like Harry Potter?’ and throws a copy of the new Cursed Child on the pile too. Finally she’s done and I ring her up for a crazy amount of money. She pays and asks me to please give the kid a few bags for his stuff. While I’m bagging her merchandise the kid hugs her. We’re both telling her how amazing she is and what an awesome thing she’s done. She turns to both of us and says probably one of the most profound, unscripted things I’ve ever had someone say. ‘It’s important to be kind. You can’t know all the times that you’ve hurt people in tiny, significant ways. It’s easy to be cruel without meaning to be. There’s nothing you can do about that. But you can choose to be kind. Be kind.’ The kid thanks her again and leaves. I tell her again how awesome she is. She’s staring out the door after him and says to me: ‘My son is a homeless ice addict. I don’t know what I did. I see that boy and I see the man my son could have been if someone had chosen to be kind to him at just the right time.’ I’ve bagged up all her stuff and at this point I am super awkward and feel like I should say something but I don’t know what. She turns to me and says, ‘I wish I could have bangs like that but my darn hair is just too curly.’ And leaves. Be kind to somebody today. Share and spread the kindness movement!

MORE BITS AND PIECES COFFEE CLUB REPORT Hi all. We had another very interesting afternoon discussion on SIGNS….. although our group was only small. The Easter break was longer than normal with school holidays. SIGNS brought the discussion to “are there signs or are there not”….. I don’t think that point was really resolved but anyway a lot of food and discussion. Marcia found a book in the library called SIGNPOSTS and it delivered many ways of interpreting Signs. Our next topic for our Coffee Club will be WHY ARE WE HERE. Is there a purpose as to why we are here? Why we meet the people we meet. Why we go through what we do. The realm we exist in. etc etc… This is a very open topic and I will leave the research for the group to do as I won’t be here for our next coffee club. Assunta has kindly volunteered to facilitate the group. The Coffee Club is not a closed group. It is open to all our members and friends to pop in and have afternoon tea with us. We are open to same minded discussions on topics of interest. Do you have a topic of interest pop in and suggest it to our group. Our topics usually come from our discussions. And then finally, shaking his fist in the air, he Said, "And if I had all the whiskey in the world, I'd take it and pour it into the river." Sermon complete, he sat down. The song leader stood very cautiously and announced With a smile, nearly laughing, "For our closing song, Let us sing Hymn #365, 'Shall We Gather at the River.'" Smile, life is too short not to! <An Arab Sheik was admitted to Hospital for heart surgery, but prior to the surgery, the doctors needed to have some of his blood type stored in case the need arose. As the gentleman had an extremely rare type of blood that couldn't be found locally, the call went out around the world. Finally a Scotsman was located who had the same rare blood type. After some coaxing, the Scot donated his blood for the Arab.

After the surgery the Arab sent the Scotsman a new BMW, a diamond necklace for his wife, and$100,000 US dollars in appreciation for the blood donation. A few months later, the Arab had to undergo a corrective surgery procedure. Once again, his doctor telephoned the Scotsman who

this time was more than happy to donate his blood. After the second surgery, the Arab sent the Scotsman a thank-you card and a box of Quality Street chocolates. The Scotsman was shocked that the Arab did not reciprocate his kind gesture as he had anticipated. He then phoned the Arab and asked him: "I thought you would be more generous than that -last time you sent me a BMW, diamonds and money, but this time you only sent me a lousy thank-you card and a crappy box of chocolates ?" To this the Arab replied: "Aye laddie ,but noow I hae Scottish blood in ma veins".
