May beach hunt
If you missed the May beach hunt here are a few details that you might be interested in. There were four hunts for the day one junior hunt and three others,
the dime circles, the poker hunt and the main hunt. There were 720 coins in the hunts all 90 percent silver no 40 percent coins. There also were 38 prize tokens for coins, probes, detector carrying bags,a rock tumbler for cleaning coins and polishing
rocks, and various other items. The weather was good,on the cold side some of us froze our butts off. There was a fun time had by everyone who attended. I would like to thank everyone who attended and donated prizes, and all the people who
helped with the hunts. Referees for the dime circles the were Steve,Allan,Gene,Tom. Also I would like to thank everyone who helped at the prize table and also a great
big thank you to our two hunt masters Jan,and John who took the time to put together everything and get the coins and prizes for the hunt. There was one issue
that happened during the junior hunt. Some of the juniors were not using headphones. All participants must use headphones in all hunts.
ILLINOIS FIRE SAFETY ALLIANCEThis is a little information about the penny project that I would like to give to the
newer members of our club. The ILLINOIS FIRE SAFETY ALLIANCE runs a camp for children who have burn injuries and are unable to attend regular camps. It takes
$2000.00 to send one child to this camp for a week. Why so much you might ask. Well it is because they need special care from doctors and nurses, and medical
supplies, besides the general needs that go along with a child going to a camp. All the pennies, other coins and cash that you donate is greatly appreciated. Don't
worry about the condition of the coins. Steve Crundwell will tumble, scrub, polish, and spit shine until they look new. Well, almost. We will be donating a check for $1000 to the Alliance at the next meeting. There will be more information at the club meeting. Could we set a new goal for next year and raise enough money to
fund an entire child?
FYI : CHRISTMAS PARTY INFO There will be a special raffle for the Christmas Party a 100% pure gold .999 fine
Buffalo coin. Special tickets are available they will cost $10.00 each there will not be any discounts you do not have to be at the party to win this coin. All the tickets are going to be registered with your name when you buy them. See Pam Hungerford /
Art Hundrieser to purchase these tickets .
It has come to my attention that I had the wrong name for the dime circles it should have Tom Halek I'm sorry for the confusion.

Finds of the Month : As you know there was no Finds of the Month in May, but don't be upset because at the June meeting all finds that you collected since the April meeting are eligible for the meeting in June on the finds table. We expect the table to be overflowing with entries this month. This year there have been 18 members entering the contest; let's see if we can get more members showing what they are finding. For those members who don't think that what they are finding is good enough to put up on the finds table, don't think that way. What you find matters because you never know what someone might like to see or what they would like to find, everybody's likes are different. I myself like many things and hope to find some of what is shown on the table.

This is all of the members who have entered the F.O.M. and have gotten points .There were others but they haven't gotten any points as of this month. It seems to be a tight race with only a few points separating the top three. But you never can tell who is going to win until the big push in the last months.

MHRS "FAMILY" PICNIC July 10th , 2016 at 10:00A.M. Busse woods , Grove #4
Is everybody ready for summer and the great weather that it brings? Well there is another reason to be looking forward to the summer and that is the annual club family picnic. Yes it is again that time of the year when we have our mid year family food get together. This is one of the best ways for our club members, family and friends to get together and socialize and get to know one another better. The club provides the hamburgers, hot dogs , and brats, paper plates, napkins and eating utensils will also be provided. What the club needs is a count of the people who will be attending and what they will be bringing because this is a pot luck style picnic. There was a sign up sheet at the April meeting and also at the spring beach hunt. The sign up sheet will also be at the June club meeting and if you can't make the meeting but are still want to attend the picnic you can directly contact Danielle, our club picnic chairman by phone or email, her phone # is 773-908-4534 if she doesn't answer leave a message, the email [email protected] and in the subject line write MHRS PICNIC let herknow how many people will be coming and what special dish you will bring Itdoesn't have to be home cooked. You can bring hamburger and hot dog buns youcan bring water, soda , ice, lots of ice, mustard, ketchup, relish, onions, tomatoes, fruit, veggies and if you have ice chests bring them because we will be needing toput the drinks and ice into them. If you have any games that adults and kids cando please bring them. John Ramoska, our great chef for the day, needs a count.Events such as this along with the hunts, and the Christmas Party are madepossible from your monthly dues, the monthly raffles and the annual bake sale.Come and enjoy this traditional, rather old-fashioned family picnic. Everyoneseems to enjoy the food and camaraderie( please bring your recipe to share ! ).Two cautionary notes :1.)DONOT BRING YOUR METAL DETECTOR WITH YOU; DON'T EVEN HAVE IT INTHE CAR! Any type of metal detector, including pin-pointers, is verboten in theCOOK COUNTY FOREST PRESERVES. I don't know how much the fine would be, butwhy take the chance / or having your machine confiscated.2.)DO NOT SPEED as you're driving though the Forest Preserve. Club membershave gotten tickets and they could cost you a pretty penny. Drive under the limitor at the limit please there are children, runners and walkers, and bicyclist on thebike paths so please be careful. In ending this winded one hundred accountinglet's all have a great time and enjoy the weather, the people, and the fun. Ifyou like the food let the chef know he deserves it.
