A re you ready for summer vacation? The Brickyard is! Our staff has been diligently working to get ready
for the summer fun by preparing relaxing activities for the entire family. Once again we will offer the
Brickyard Summer Academy – a safe and fun filled learning environment for your child to participate in
beginning June 2nd. Rebecca has planned several stimulating activities for your children and grandchil-
dren. They will be able to participate in fun games, arts and crafts, swimming, cooking lessons, and so much more! In
addition, Jim and his staff will be working with your children to educate them on the basic fundamentals of golf, range
safety, and improving basic golf skills and etiquette.
Chefs Mattie, Sous Chef Bobby, and the entire culinary staff would like to invite you to come to the club to sample the
new menu items that will be available for the summer, full of favorites and new recipes to titillate your taste buds.
With the summer opening of the pool on May 22nd, it is a great opportunity to enjoy the pool while sampling the new
snack bar menu. We will also be offering special themed dinners, beverage specials, and cool summer drinks for your
pleasure.
I would like to welcome the newest members of our management team. Carl McNeill has joined the Brickyard as our
new Head Golf Professional and will be working with Jim Hickman, Director of Golf. Nathan Caffarelli will be join-
ing us as the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent and working with Briane Faletto. We are also pleased to welcome
Eric Kilgore, Food & Beverage Manager / Sous Chef to our team. Please refer to the full articles for more information
on these individuals.
Last, but not least, I would like to recognize our fine staff and department heads for their dedication and the wonderful
job they do on a daily basis. Human resources are a critical component for private clubs and our staff goes above and
beyond to provide our members with an enjoyable club experience. The management team is beginning the planning
process for 2015/2016 fiscal year and will be meeting for our annual planning retreat very soon. In order to obtain your
input, suggestions, and feedback, we will be sending our Executive Committee Members a SFSWOT analysis
(successes, failures, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) to prepare the Club’s Annual Business Plan for
the new fiscal year. Please speak with one of the committee members to voice your concerns; your honest feedback is
most valuable to us during the planning process. Thank you in advance for your input and cooperation.
As always, please feel free to contact me at any time. I look forward to seeing you soon!

A Note from your Course Superintendent
I would like to start off by welcoming Nathan Caf-farelli to my staff. Nathan has been selected as our new Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. Nathan comes to us with a great background of education and experience. I am excited to have him on my team. If you see him around the course, please welcome him to the Brickyard family.
This month is when things really start getting busy for us on the course. With the warmer temperatures, the Bermuda grass will finally start growing normally. Up to this point we have had some cooler temperatures that have really kept it from prospering.
Some of the maintenance procedures we will be ac-complishing throughout May are; edging and adding sand to the bunkers, edging cart-paths, spiking fair-ways, spiking tees and fertilizing, verti-cutting the greens and top-dressing, and spraying weeds. This, along with general maintenance, will keep us busy.
I will be painting white lines about 20-30 yards out from the greens to help with cart traffic in those are-as. Please go from the white lines to the cart path to approach the greens. We have been noticing some wear around the greens and this will help with better playing conditions.
Just a reminder that the course will be closed Monday and Tuesday June 1 and June 2 for greens aerifica-tion.
Hope to see you on the course!Briane Faletto, GCS
Class A Superintedent
We Need Your Help!!
Please repair ball marks on green.
Rake bunkers after your shot.
Use 90 degree rule (it helps fairways).
Please register yourself and guests before
going out to play golf.
Please check with Jim Hickman or Carl
McNeill before playing a five-some.
Thanks and happy golfing!
The driving range will be closed two hours
before dark every Sunday evening.
This will allow staff to retrieve all range balls from the range. This will
allow our maintenance staff to mow on Monday and will also ensure
that we are not losing any range balls.

It’s an exciting time here at the Brickyard & I feel very
lucky to be here. Spring is in full bloom & our mem-
bership is growing. With that in mind I’d like to re-
mind everyone that groups with more than four play-
ers must get approval from the Director of Golf or the
Head Professional. We will always try to accommodate
but decisions will be based on course availability.
