If you are not looking in here, chances
are you are missing out on some great programming. Make sure to pick up your copy of the Iberia Parish Library monthly newsletter. Ask how to
receive one at home in the mail.
Summer is approaching very quickly. It won’t be long before it’s time to pull out the bathing suits and sunscreen and head to the beach! Before
you plan those family vacations, make sure to register your children for Iberia Parish Library Summer Workshops! The booklets are out and can
be picked up at ANY branch of the Iberia Parish Library.
Registration will take place the week of May 5 to 11 during the Main
Library’s normal operating hours - Sunday, 1:30 to 5:30 p.m.; Monday
through Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; and Friday & Saturday 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Registration forms may be downloaded from the
library’s website: www.iberia.lib.la.us or picked up at any branch of the
library during the week of registration. All forms must be turned in at
the Main Library by Saturday, May 11 at 5:30 p.m.

To better serve the community and support the online services the Iberia Parish Library has to offer, we will be hosting two pop-up
tables in the month of May. During this time, patrons with any
questions can come for tech support and a small demonstration (on
their own devices) in the convenience of the library. Some of the
services that we can cover include:

Overdrive
Mango If you have not already taken the opportunity to learn about these
wonderful services, please join us on Thursday, May 2 from 3-5 pm
at the Main Library or on Tuesday, May 14 from 11 am to 1 pm at
the Main Library. If you have any questions, please call 364.7024.

The Library is ready to “kick off” and dig into its summer festivities! We
invite you to our annual carnival celebration on Monday, June 3 at
9:15 a.m. at the Main Library. Unearth some fun prizes as you “dig” your
way through games and crafts. You will also have a chance to sign up for the “Dig Into Reading” summer reading program at this time. Following
the carnival, there will be an awards ceremony for the 15th Annual Bookmark Contest at 10:15 a.m. and a performance by the
Calliope Puppets at 10:30 a.m.
We will also hold kick off events at each of our branches. Join us for
some magical fun with Magician Mitch Richard at the branches at
the following times.

Can you believe it was only a year ago that the Main
Library underwent a remodel. New carpets, fresh
paint, new furniture pieces and a few other added
special touches were some of the major projects. Take a
trip down memory lane with
us with the pictures below.
Toddler Time is back! Make sure to register for the summer
session which will begin on Wednesday, June 12 at 10:30 a.m. at the Main
Library. Toddler Time is for children ages 24-35 months (2
years old). They can enjoy
stories, easy crafts, finger plays, and sing along to songs with their parent or guardian. This
program is absolutely free and all you need to do is register by
calling the Children’s Department at 364.7150.

Freegal Music gives you access to millions of songs from over 10,000 labels including the Sony Music catalog. This revolutionary
database is now offered at your Iberia Parish Library, and it’s
absolutely FREE with your library card.
How Freegal Music Works:
Each library patron has a 3 song download limit per week. You will be able
to keep track of your downloads in the upper right corner of the site.
Every song has a sample clip you can listen to before you download.
The downloads on this site are all in the MP3 format with no DRM. This
service will work with any MP3 player, including iPod, and can be loaded
