Chamber Notes Have you ever dreamed of becoming a Whitewater Rafting Guide in Maine? North Country Rivers is offering a Whitewater Rafting Guide training course this Spring. This course trains you to become a "Registered Maine Whitewater Guide" and work for North Country Rivers as a Whitewater Guide. The course runs from May 22 - June 2, 2011. Space is limited. CARF International has accredited Kennebec Behavioral Health for a period of three years for all of its programs and services. This accreditation is the third consecutive three-year accreditation that the international accrediting body has awarded to KBH. Spectrum Generations Family Caregiver Support Program is providing four Maine Savvy Caregiver trainings this spring and summer. Savvy Caregiver is a 12-hour training program for family caregivers of people with dementing disorders like Alzheimer’s disease. These trainings are sponsored by the Office of Elder Services, Department of Health and Human Services and funded by a grant from the U.S. Administration on Aging. Pre-registration is required. To obtain more information or to register, please call 1-800-282-0764 ext. 127 or 139.

The City of Augusta will build a "petanque terrain" playing field at Mill Park this summer for a popular game (like bocce) played in France. Funding is near complete, but money is still needed to complete the project. To make a donation, contact Leif Dahlin at City Center – 207-626-2352.
