I have been traveling to Tallahassee on and off for the past sixteen years on business, to garnersupport for a cause or to seek funding for local initiatives. For the first time, I left with a refreshedexcitement for Florida’s future and the possibility that the legislature could become more intouch with the real time issues of Floridians. The issues we discuss at the dinner table and thewater cooler.
There is an unprecedented partnership amongst the next three Speakers of the House, Rep. MarcoRubio (2006-2008), Rep. Ray Sansom (2008-2010), and Rep. Dean Cannon (2010-2012) tohave the people of Florida write a book that can create action items and accountability for thelegislature. That book is entitled 100 Innovative Ideas for Florida’s Future. Their process is tohave idea-raisers across the state, interactive on-line chats, and the ability to submit your ideasand solutions for Florida’s issues.
The growth, hurricanes, limited industry for continued economic stability, education, transportationand healthcare are a few the issues facing our West Orange community right now. Don’t missthe opportunity to take just a few minutes, as little as seven minutes if you choose, to provide anidea or solution that could make the difference of a lifetime. To participate log onto 100ideas.org.
