Educating Winners Everyday

Sound Check:

We will be learning about words that sound the same, but mean different things. For example, “see” and “sea”

Sight Words and Family Words:

We will be preparing for our last language

assessment of the year. Please review the sight words and family words

that we have learned this year. I have included a list of the words in each child’s

binder.

Homework Help:

This will be our last week for homework. I will be sending home a summer activities calendar for

each student during the last week of school. Please be sure your child reads over the summer as much

as possible.

Getting 2nd Grade Ready:

Math Common Core Standard: 2.NBT.1: Understand that the three digits of a three-digit number represent amounts of hundreds, tens, and ones; e.g., 706 equals 7 hundreds, 0 tens, and 6 ones.

2.NBT.2 Count within 1000; skip-count by 5s, 10s, and 100s.
