On. board tho Claudine which leftfor Honolulu last night, was an ex-

hibit of the agricultural products ofMaui which will deservedly rank highin the coming fair exhibits at Bono- -

lulu.This exhibit was forwarded by Mr.

EH. Bailey of the Miikamua Ranch,Makawao,and were magnificent specimens of what the Makawao Distrlct can produce. There were fourvarieties of squashes, a "Heart o'

Gold," weighing 75 lps.j a "Mam-moth Chili" weighing 80 lbs. , and oneeach of the "Delicata" and "Fordhook," dainty and delicate tablesquashes; the rinds of which are almost as thin as paper. These squashes are all from imported seeds. Fourwater melons were in the exhibit,weighing respectively 55, 53, 52 and41 pounds; or 201 pounds for the four.I here was also a prize winning ex-

hibit of "Early Puritan" potatoesand another of carrots. Three greatsunflower heads were also in the collection, each more than a loot indiameter. There were also specimensof dented corn froni Imported seedand Kula corn on the stalk, the latter being too green to .exhibit otherwise. Mr. Bailey also had some magnilicent specimens of lemons to exhibit but they were stolen from thetrees a few nights since, much to hisdisappointment, for he had been sav- -

iug them especially for exhibitionat the fair.

The entire exhibit, as a group, Is

very fine, and if Mr. Bailey does not.win a first.prize, there will be somevery fine exhibits at Honolulu
