YEAR 2 NEWS

The children are looking forward to entertaining you

tomorrow during the Matthew Gibney Day concert. We

have also been busy practising for our assembly on

Friday 2/11/18.

We have been looking at toys from the past. If you have

any toys or objects from the past, we would love to see

them! We have also been reading a very interesting book

about Australian children and learning about life in the

past.

We have also been very fortunate to have had Marcus, a

Year 12 student, complete, a work placement with us.

The children have enjoyed working with Marcus. We wish

Marcus all the best for his future studies.

Just a reminder that the Toy activity that was set for

homework last week is due tomorrow. The children will

present their findings during their news next week. A new

excursion note for Kings Park was sent home on Monday.

If you did not receive a new note, please let me know.

YEAR 3 NEWS

Year Three had a great time on their excursion to the city with the Year One class. We learnt about Ned Kelly through

the Sidney Nolan exhibition at the Art Gallery and then we studied images, articles and artefacts in the State Library that

revealed how much King’s Park, our beaches, the Swan River, the Perth Zoo and the Royal Show have changed over

time in our wonderful city. We also had enough time to have a wander along the streets in the city and admire the

amazing artwork on our city walls and analyse interesting sculptures. Students were finally set the task to create their

own artwork piece that they would like to see in our city one day.
