Matt Dunbar Upstate Carolina Angel Network Matt Dunbar is Managing Director of the Upstate Carolina Angel Network (UCAN) and a Founder and Director of the Palmetto Angel Fund. UCAN is a Greenville, SC-based group of accredited investors who support high-growth startup ventures in the Southeast with capital and expertise. Since its inception in 2008, the group has invested over $9 million in 33 companies. The Palmetto Angel Fund is a new committed fund that will co-invest with UCAN and other active angels in the South Carolina Angel Network. Matt also serves on the Board of Directors for the national Angel Capital Association, as well as several UCAN portfolio companies. He is also a Lecturer in the Clemson University MBA program and with the Enviropreneur Institute at the Property and Environment Research Center in Bozeman, Montana. He is a member of the Greenville Forum and a Board Member for Junior Achievement of the Upstate. Matt was named one of Greenville’s 50 Most Influential in 2010 and 2013, and one of Greenville’s 35 Best and Brightest Under 35 in 2011. Prior to joining UCAN, Matt was a Project Leader with the Boston Consulting Group in their Atlanta office, and he began his career with Eastman Chemical Company in Kingsport, TN. Matt graduated Clemson University in 1999 with a BS in Chemical Engineering, and he later earned an MBA and Masters in Education from Stanford University in 2005.
