Explain!What is the difference between a phrase and a clause?

A phrase is a group of words. A phrase either doesn’t have a verb

or doesn’t have a subject.

Main clauses and subordinate clausesA main clause has a subject and a verb. It makes sense on its own.

A subordinate clause gives extra information but it doesn’t make sense on its own.
