Math Class Overview Daily Routine: Skill drills-5 questions per day (M-Th). Quiz Friday over vocab/skill drills – (5 minutes). Stations- PBL, Choice Board, Conferences (30-45 minutes) Reflection/Wrap up/prepare for tomorrow (5 minutes) Math Class Components: Math notebook o Organization, parent involvement, study tool, student accountability Homework- vocab words, independent practice, (10 minutes max) o Parent signature required Rewards : Skill drill champs- 95% or better earns small prizes each week or extra privileges. Notebook signatures on Fridays- certain % of class returns, then class rewarded Classroom Management: Quizzes every other week Notebook checks due Friday Skill Drills M-Th Groupings o Pretest- MC, word problems, vocab, identical to post test o Groups based on needs, data, and notes o Re-teaching- after school once a week for 1.5 hours. Also groupings during class can be dedicated to re-teaching. o Posttest- Mastery is 80% or better Positive Behavior recorded and noted in weekly e-blasts and notes home- “Shining Stars of the week” Students evaluate own behavior on weekly reflection sheets.
