Laminated Chip Board
MDF
CHIPBOARDGluing together wood particles with an adhesive, under heat and pressure makes chipboard. This creates a rigid board with a relatively smooth surface.
CHIPBOARDUSES: Chipboard with a veneered surface is used for kitchen and wardrobe shutters and for various sets of office as well as home furniture. Formica pressed chipboard is used for office furniture.
LAMINATED BOARD/LPL/MFC
Melamine Faced Chipboard (MFC) is designed with Plain Board laminated with impregnated melamine paper. These boards are both sides laminated and matching hardboards and decorative laminate sheets are also available.
LAMINATED BOARD/LPL/MFCUSES: Low pressure laminated surface is resistant to chemicals, heat and abrasion so laminated boards are ideal for use in furniture, kitchen and wardrobe carcasses as well as in paneling and partitioning etc.
MEDIUM DENSITY FIBRE (MDF)
MDF is a type of board, which is made from wood fibers glued under heat and pressure.
MEDIUM DENSITY FIBRE (MDF)
ADVANTAGES: It is dense, flat, stiff, has no knots and is easily machined. Because it is made up of fine particles it does not have an easily recognizable surface grain. MDF can be painted to produce a smooth quality surface. Because MDF has no grain it can be cut, drilled, machined and filed without damaging the surface.
MEDIUM DENSITY FIBRE (MDF)
USES: Veneered MDF is used for kitchen and wardrobe shutters and also in doors
4mm MDF is used as kitchen cabinet backs. It is used in bed structures, table tops and drawer heads.
HIGH DENSITY FIBRE (HDF)
HDF, commonly termed as hardboard is similar to MDF in that it is made of wood fibers however it is higher in density. In Interwood one side laminated hardboard is used as backs of kitchen cabinets, filling cabinets and wardrobes.
HIGH PRESSURE LAMINATE
High pressure laminate (HPL) mostly know by its brand name FORMICA, is made of several sheets of paper that get bonded together using high pressure presses. The product gets glued on to the panel generally using a PVA glue. It is available in variety of colors and is used mostly in non standard products as per client requirement. In standard products it is used for the lamination of chipboard used in drawer structure.
PVC EDGE BANDING TAPE
PVC edge banding tapes are made of PVC plastic and are used to cover un-attractive edges of substrate which can be chipboard of MDF.

Veneer
VENEERThin strips (0.5 to 0.7mm thick) of real wood veneer, cut from prepared tree trunks, are chemically bonded to the substrate, which is usually MDF or chipboard. After the real wood has been applied the board, it is sanded, stained, and then covered in two coats of protective varnish.
PLYWOODPlywood is made by gluing together a number of thin veneers or plies of softwood or hardwood. There are always an odd number of veneers and each ply is at a right angle to the one below, this gives strength to the material. The type of glue and veneers determine the suitability of a sheet for a particular application.
PLYWOODUSES: In Interwood, plywood is used in flooring, sink cabinets and wall paneling.
HARDWOODThere are two main types of woods,Hardwood: Hardwoods are produced by broad leaved trees whose seeds are enclosed in fruit e.g. acorns. They have a variety of grains and a multitude of colors.Hardwoods include Mahogany, Teak, Ebony, Oak, Ash, Beech and Birch.
SOFTWOODSoftwood: These are produced by the cone bearing trees (conifers). They are generally evergreen and have easily recognizable needle-like leaves. They grow in cold or cool temperate climates. These include Pine, Fir, Spruce and Cedar.

Fabric
FOAMA variety of Foam is used for making Seats and back of Chairs, Sofas etc.
FABRICFabric is a flexible woven material consisting of a network of natural or artificial fibers often referred to as thread or yarn.Fabric is used for upholstering chairs, sofas and stools. A variety in colors and types is available.
LEATHERETTELeatherette is a form of artificial leather, usually made by covering a fabric base with plastic. The fabric can be made of a natural or a synthetic fiber which is then covered with a soft PVC layer.
METALLIC MATERIALS
METALS
Steel
Aluminum
Cast Iron
Brass
MILD STEELMild steels is low carbon steel which is ductile and malleable, in Interwood we use it in wide variety of applications mostly in base structure in office furniture. It can have powder coated, chrome or paint finish.
STAINLESS STEELStainless steel is a steel alloy with 10.5 to 11% chromium content by mass, it doesn't readily corrode, rust or stain as readily as other steel does. In IWM it is used in pedestal, legs and fittings. It is available in brush and glass finish.
ALUMINUMAluminum is a relatively soft, durable, lightweight, ductile and malleable metal with appearance ranging from silvery to dull gray, depending on the surface roughness. In IWM aluminum is used in partition channels, aluminum sheets are used as kitchen cabinet inner lining to protect from moisture and also in shutter frames. It is available in powder coated and anodized finish.
BRASSBrass is alloy of copper and zinc and is malleable. It is beautiful because of its gold like appearance and in IWM it is used in fittings and sofa legs etc.
SOLID SURFACES
SOLID SURFACES Marble
Corian
Granite
MARBLEMarble is rock composed of crystallized carbonate minerals mostly calcite or dolomite, it is used as work surface tops in kitchens and as counter top of reception counters as well as in lab furniture.
GRANITEGranite is a rock which is granular and crystalline in nature, this consists of quartz, mica and feldspar. It is also used as work surface, counter tops and lab furniture. It is costly as well as more beautiful as compared to marble.
CORIANCorian is the brand name for a solid surface material created by DuPont. It is composed of acrylic polymer and alumina trihydrate (ATH).Corian can be thermoformed by heating it to 300 °F (150 °C), allowing unique shapes to be created. Its primary use is in kitchen countertops, bathroom vanity tops, and wall cladding in showers.

POLISH MATERIALS
POLISH MATERIAL Stain
Sealer
Lacquer
POLISH MATERIALSSTAIN: Stain is a sort of coloring material especially formulated for the wood. It imparts desired color to the wood/veneer. And does not hide the wood grains. The exterior stains also resist the UV light presents in the sun and have more non fading effect as compared with the routine stains.SEALER: The sealer “seals” the surface of the wood hence prevents the removal of stains underneath during regular use. And also fills the grains of the wood.LACQUER: Lacquer is the top layer of the finishing and gives look, gloss, chemical and, mechanical properties to the surface. The lacquers of the exterior grade help in fighting from rain and other environmental factors which tend to ruin the wooden articles fixed in extreme outdoor environment.
POLISH MATERIALS• In Interwood we use coating materials which are especially
manufactured for the wood and veneer. These are PU (Regular coating System), Acrylic (Non Yellowing Coating System), UV (Non Yellowing instant drying coating system) and exterior coating system. These systems exist both in clear and paint form.
PACKAGING MATERIALS
PACKAGING MATERIAL
Thermo pore
Jumbolon
Cardboard
Polythene
THERMOPOREThermopore is a versatile, lightweight material which provides cushioning and can be manufactured into a variety of products. We use edge and corner protectors of thermopore. For surface protection thermopore sheets are used. Thermopore is used for the packing of wide range of assembled as well as flat packed furniture
CARDBOARDCorrugated cardboard is heavy duty paper extensively used for packaging in the form of boxes and sheets. In Interwood it is used for packing of sofas, chairs, partitions, center/side tables and some flat packed side racks.
POLYTHENE
Polythene is most common plastic material, it is flexible, stretchable and water proof. These properties make it extensively used packing material. Almost all products which are packed in thermopore whether assembled or flat packed are afterwards wrapped in polythene (stretch film).A special polythene having air bubbles has extra cushioning and is used for packing of kitchen cabinets.
