Pick something that suits your skill level. Don’t pick something that will be too hard to

make Also don’t pick something that will be too easy

to make. Make sure you include some element of

difficulty so that you can show case your skills. E.g. If you are good at wood turning include it somewhere or if you are good at making the mortise and tenon joint try to factor that in.

Make sure curves, chamfers and so on are well sanded.

Get rid of all pencil lines Apply a few coats of varnish, danish oil or

wax. Make sure the project has a nice shine on it

when finished. The finish will also effect the marks given in

the overall appearance of the project. This is a very important step.
