4. First Aid MeasuresFirst aid procedures

Inhalation Move to fresh air. If breathing stops, provide articial respiration. If breathing is dicult, giveoxygen. Get medical attention if symptoms persist.

Skin contact Wash o immediately with soap and plenty of water while removing all contaminated clothes andshoes. Duration of rinsing should be at least 15 minutes. In case of contact with liqueed gas, thawfrosted parts with lukewarm water. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.

Eye contact Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention if irritationpersists after washing.

Ingestion Do not induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to a victim who is unconscious or is havingconvulsions. If vomiting occurs, keep head low so that stomach content doesn't get into the lungs.Get medical attention.

General advice If you feel unwell, seek medical advice (show the label where possible). Ensure that medicalpersonnel are aware of the material(s) involved, and take precautions to protect themselves. Showthis safety data sheet to the doctor in attendance.

5. Fire Fighting MeasuresFlammable properties Flammable by WHMIS criteria. Pressurized container may explode when exposed to heat or ame.

Heat may cause the containers to explode. Vapors may form explosive mixtures with air. Vaporsmay travel considerable distance to a source of ignition and ash back. Material will oat on waterand can be re-ignited at the water’s surface.

Extinguishing mediaSuitable extinguishingmedia

Powder. Foam. Carbon dioxide (CO2).

Unsuitable extinguishingmedia

Do not use water jet as an extinguisher, as this will spread the re.

Protection of reghtersSpecic hazards arisingfrom the chemical

Fire may produce irritating, corrosive and/or toxic gases.

Protective equipment forreghters

Fireghters should wear full protective clothing including self contained breathing apparatus.

Fire ghtingequipment/instructions

Fireghters should wear full protective gear. Ventilate the contaminated area. Remove all sourcesof ignition. Move containers from re area if you can do so without risk. Use water spray to coolunopened containers. Prevent re extinguishing water from contaminating surface water or theground water system.

Explosion dataSensitivity to staticdischarge

May be sensitive to static discharge. Vapours in the ammable range may be ignited by a staticdischarge or sucient energy.

Sensitivity to mechanicalimpact

Not expected to be sensitive to mechanical impact.

Hazardous combustionproducts

Carbon oxides. Other irritating fumes and smoke.

6. Accidental Release MeasuresPersonal precautions Keep unnecessary personnel away. Keep people away from and upwind of spill/leak. Remove all

possible sources of ignition in the surrounding area. Many gases are heavier than air and willspread along ground and collect in low or conned areas (sewers, basements, tanks). Wearappropriate protective equipment and clothing during clean-up. Avoid inhalation of vapors andspray mists. Do not touch damaged containers or spilled material unless wearing appropriateprotective clothing. Ventilate closed spaces before entering them. For personal protection, seesection 8 of the MSDS.

Environmental precautions Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Do not contaminate water.

Methods and materials forcontainment and cleaning up

Eliminate all ignition sources (no smoking, ares, sparks, or ames in immediate area). Vacuumup the spilled material. Stop the ow of material, if this is without risk. Move the cylinder to a safeand open area if the leak is irreparable. Isolate area until gas has dispersed. Dike the spilledmaterial, where this is possible. Use a non-combustible material like vermiculite, sand or earth tosoak up the product and place into a container for later disposal. Prevent entry into waterways, sewer, basements or conned areas. Following product recovery, ush area with water. For wastedisposal, see section 13 of the MSDS. In the event of a spill or accidental release, notify relevantauthorities in accordance with all applicable regulations.

Other information Clean up in accordance with all applicable regulations.

7. Handling and StorageHandling Pressurized container: Do not pierce or burn, even after use. Vapors may form explosive mixtures

with air. When using, do not eat, drink or smoke. Minimize re risks from ammable andcombustible materials (including combustible dust and static accumulating liquids) or dangerousreactions with incompatible materials. Handling operations that can promote accumulation of staticcharges include but are not limited to: mixing, ltering, pumping at high ow rates, splash lling, creating mists or sprays, tank and container lling, tank cleaning, sampling, gauging, switchloading, vacuum truck operations. Do not use if spray button is missing or defective. Do not sprayon a naked ame or any other incandescent material. Do not smoke while using or until sprayedsurface is thoroughly dry. Do not cut, weld, solder , drill, grind, or expose containers to heat, ame, sparks, or other sources of ignition. All equipment used when handling the product must begrounded. Do not re-use empty containers. Avoid breathing mist or vapor. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Use only in area provided with appropriate exhaust ventilation. Wearappropriate personal protective equipment. Wash thoroughly after handling.

Storage CAUTION Level 1 Aerosol.

Contents under pressure. Pressurized container. Protect from sunlight and do not expose totemperatures exceeding 50°C/122°F. Keep away from heat, sparks and open ame. The pressurein sealed containers can increase under the inuence of heat. Do not puncture, incinerate orcrush. Do not handle or store near an open ame, heat or other sources of ignition. This materialcan accumulate static charge which may cause spark and become an ignition source. Preventelectrostatic charge build-up by using common bonding and grounding techniques. These alonemay be insucient to remove static electricity. Avoid spark promoters. Store in tightly closedoriginal container in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. Store away from incompatible materials(see Section 10 of the MSDS).

Engineering controls Ensure adequate ventilation, especially in conned areas. Good general ventilation (typically 10 airchanges per hour) should be used. Ventilation rates should be matched to conditions. Ifapplicable, use process enclosures, local exhaust ventilation, or other engineering controls tomaintain airborne levels below recommended exposure limits. If exposure limits have not beenestablished, maintain airborne levels to an acceptable level.

Personal protective equipmentEye/face protection Wear safety glasses with side shields (or goggles). A full face shield may also be necessary.

Provide an emergency eye wash fountain and quick drench shower in the immediate work area.

Skin protection Wear suitable protective clothing.

Respiratory protection Use a NIOSH/MSHA approved respirator if there is a risk of exposure to dust/fume at levelsexceeding the exposure limits. Advice should be sought from respiratory protection specialists.

Hand protection Wear appropriate chemical resistant gloves. Advice should be sought from glove suppliers.
