The Dodgers, who swept the Reds May 23-25 in Los Angeles, had their nine-game winning streak over Cincinnati snapped last night. The Dodgers’ winning streak vs. the Reds tied for their longest since moving west in 1958 (fourth time, last: 2008-09) and was the third-longest run in the all-time series between the franchises, behind a 13- games streak in 1947-48 and a 10-game streak in 1952. SECOND-HALF SURGE: Los Angeles posted double-digit hits last night and in 30 games since the All-Star break (16-14), the Dodgers lead the NL in team batting average (.278, 304-for-1093) and top the Majors in slugging percentage (.468), while ranking second in the big leagues with an average of 5.40 runs per game (162 R).
