Mother’s Day message, The month of May is traditionally dedicated to Marian devotion. As you are aware, our devotion to Mary is scripturally based. She is a model for those who hear God’s word and observe it. She tells us to do whatever her Son wants us to do. She inspires us to say “yes” to God’s will. Mary hastened to help her cousin Elizabeth in need. We too can help those in need in our families and society. Mary also was at the foot of the cross, join-ing her own suffering with that of her Son. If Jesus was so close to his mother, we can also be close to her. We extend to all of our mother on this day our deepest grat-itude and wish them a joyful and grace-filled day of celebration with their families and friends. Mensaje del Día de la Madre, El mes de mayo está dedicado tradicionalmente a la devoción mariana. Como ustedes saben, nuestra devoción a María se basa en las Escrituras. Ella es un modelo para los que escuchan la palabra de Dios y la guardan. Ella nos dice que debemos hacer todo lo que su Hijo quiere que hagamos. Ella nos inspira a decir "sí" a la voluntad de Dios. María se apresuró a ayudar a su prima Isabel quien lo necesitaba. Nosotros también po-demos ayudar a los necesitados en nuestras familias y la sociedad. María también estaba al pie de la cruz, unién-dose a su propio sufrimiento con el de su Hijo. Si Jesús estaba tan cerca de su madre, también podemos estar cerca de ella. Nosotros extendemos nuestra más profun-da gratitud a todas las madres y les deseamos un día alegre y lleno de gracia celebrando con sus familias y amigos.
