Fr. Pham was born in the city of Da-Nang, Vietnam. When the whole country of Vietnam fell under Communism, Fr. Pham escaped by boat to Hong Kong and migrated from there to Port Arthur, TX as a political refugee. At age 16 he left the hot climate of the South and entered the St. Joseph High School Seminary of the Diocese of Grand Rapids, MI and was ordained a priest in 1991. Spurred by a profound desire to serve the poor and in particular those of his native land, Fr. Pham was later incardinated to the Diocese of Thanh-Hoa. Fr. Pham now resides in Lakeview, a little town of Michigan and serves as the Episcopal Vicar of the Diocese of Thanh-Hoa and General Coordinator of the people of Thanh-Hoa living in North America. In 2006 Cross Catholic Outreach welcomed Fr. Pham to carry on his passionate commitment to God and to the poor which is exhibited most clearly in his simple life and, in particular, his preaching.

HomeboundMinistryHelpersNeededThe Homebound Ministry at Saint Francis is compose of Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EXO) who visit the sick and elderly in nursing homes/extended care facilities and homebound. The ministry is in need of additional volunteers in order to continue visitation on a regular basis. Members must presently be trained as an EXO Eucharistic Minister. If you are interested in inding out more about this important ministry, arrangements can be made for you to accompany ministers as they make their visits. On October 31, Grade School Faith Formation will be celebrating the solemnity of All Saints! We welcome you to pass out wrapped candy in La Salette Hall after 7pm Mass and see our Little Saints! MEDITACIÓNEVANGÉLICO-ALENTARENTENDIMIENTOMÁSPROFUNDODELAESCRITURA14deoctubrede201828oDomingodelTiempoOrdinarioEl hombre rico decididamente se acerco a Jesus y le hizo la pregunta: "Maestro Bueno, ¿Que tengo que hacer para conseguir la vida eterna? Jesus, como buen Maestro le responde: "Vete, vende todo lo que tienes y reparte el dinero entre los pobres, y tendras un tesoro en el Cielo". Siguiendo la respuesta, Jesus lo invita: "Despues, ven y sıgueme" (Marcos 10:21-22). Parece que en el tiempo de Jesus era imposible dejarlo todo. Pero, en nuestro tiempo, es lo mismo no es realista. Tomar la decision de dejar todo lo que uno tiene es difıcil y doloroso. Entonces, ¿que se puede hacer? La verdad es que si hacemos esta pregunta, debemos de prepararnos para la respuesta que nos dara Jesus. Su respuesta sera la misma que le dio al hombre rico. Imagina la mirada carinosa del Senor diciendo: "Solo te falta una cosa." Preguntese: ¿Que cosas debo dejar ahora para encontrar la vida eterna? Quizas debe dejar de hacer prejuicios, o a lo mejor somos de esos ricos egoıstas sin dinero. Ante toda respuesta, el secreto estriba en la Palabra de Dios que nos ilumina. La sabidurıa de Dios es la que nos ayuda a vivir sabiamente. La Palabra dirige al corazon para ver las necesidades de los demas. Y ante todo lo demas, con iar en Dios. Ojala que la mirada carinosa de Jesus no quede lotando en el aire, sino que tenga respuesta. Una de tantas es dejarse tocar por Dios, para dar cabida al discipulado y seguir a Dios sin condiciones. ¡Danos, Senor, el valor de compartir lo que tenemos, ya sea cosas materiales o amor por los que nos rodean!

Si se le pide que sea padrino, para el sacramento del Bautismo o la Con irmacion, uno de los requisitos es recibir una carta de la iglesia certi icando que usted asiste a Misa regularmente. Tenemos una parroquia grande y la unica manera de saber si viene a Misa regularmente es el uso de sus sobres. Todos los feligreses registrados tienen un numero de familia, el cual es el numero que se utiliza para su identi icacion y es el que se imprime en el exterior de los sobres. Por favor, use los sobres, no necesariamente tiene que colocar alguna cantidad en el interior, pero el numero en el exterior nos permite saber que estan asistiendo a Misa regularmente.
