ADVANTAGE
• The basic idea of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs: Our needs are constantly changing.
• As one need is met, we desire other needs.
• Beauty of Maslow’s hierarchy: Reality and problem-centered.
![Page 11: Maslow’s need hierarchy](https://reader038.fdocuments.net/reader038/viewer/2022102400/554f0a19b4c90577698b53b8/html5/thumbnails/11.jpg)
OBJECTIONS:
• Maslow created his hierarchy of needs from an INDIVIDUALISTIC PERSPECTIVE, being that he was from the United States, a highly individualistic nation.
• His theory was based upon healthy persons. Study of exemplary people such as Albert Einstein, etc. No anticipation of mentally crippled or mentally ill.
• Classic approach. No room for spirituals like Sufi, poets etc.

MARKETING APPLICATION:
• Products are formed and placed to satisfy a category of needs in marketing as well as advertising.
• Example: You may convince a person to buy a car even if he don’t have to by analyzing his level of need.
(Mostly in Self esteem stage because they relate themselves with brands to show achievements.)
