Gardening with KMGardening with KM On Tuesdays, KM goes to the garden to see the chickens and help 4PR and Mrs Poynting

with the gardening. We love seeing and feeding the chickens. Last week, we named them

Elsie, Joan, Gladys and Martha.

When we go to the garden, we help with the weeding which feeds the chickens and we like

to put in new plants and help with the watering.

This year, it is KM’s job to look after the Fairy Garden. So far, we have weeded and added

some new plants but we would like to do more BUT we need everyone’s help!

If people would be happy to donate, we are looking for secondhand ceramic pots, soil, fairy

garden decorations along with red and white paint to create toadstools for the fairies.

If anyone could help, we would be so grateful! Please see Miss Mason or Mrs Poynting if you

have any donations.

MATHS GROUPS IN STAGE 2MATHS GROUPS IN STAGE 2

Stage 2 are enjoying maths groups which take place three times a week and allows them to rotate between different teachers and classrooms every 2-3 weeks and to focus on a new topic. This week we have been learning about patterns and algebra. Students were asked to make 3-and 4-sided shapes using paddlepop sticks and calculate the number of sticks used to make these shapes. Students working with Ms Day and Mrs Freeman really enjoyed the activities and Riley and Mori were able to share with the group how they had calculated the number of sticks required using their knowledge of the 3, 4, 6 and 8 times tables. Well done, Mori and Riley!

Preschool and Year 6Preschool and Year 6

Buddy ProgramBuddy Program This term, the Preschoolers have been lucky enough to spend valuable

time with the Year 6 students. The Year 6 buddies have been attending

Preschool in their own lunchtime to make and share memorable moments

with the youngest members of our school. When at Preschool, the

buddies interact with the children to develop strong relationships and

engage with the Preschoolers, assisting them through play in the

outdoor environment. The Preschool teachers are very appreciative of

the time, effort and initiative that the buddies have been continually

displaying. The Preschoolers are looking forward to spending time with

their buddies in Term 3.
