Do not worry about anything, but pray and ask God for everything
you need, always giving thanks. And God’s peace, which is so great we cannot understand it, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Phil 4:6-7
Dear Brothers and Sisters, We have been living with Covid 19 for seven (7) months now. It has impacted on all our lives to some degree or another. I am hoping for most of us it has been an inconvenience but for others it has hit hard, causing them to fall ill themselves or have been bereaved because a loved one has died from Covid. The danger for most of us that see Covid 19 as an inconvenience is that we can become complacent and let our guard down or worse, we do not think it is such a big deal. The thing is it is a big deal, and we should do all that we can to keep ourselves and others safe. Let us wear our masks and keep our hands clean. Let us think safe and be safe. St Paul in his letter to the people of Philippi told them not to worry about anything but pray and ask God for everything they need. Good advice – let us do the same – let us not worry, let us pray and ask God for everything we need, and God’s peace will keep our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. May God’s grace and love keep you and all your loved ones safe and forever in God’s care.

Celebration of Masses at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish
I am delighted to say that we are back to our full weekend mass schedule at both worship sites (see the updated Mass schedule, including additions, in the front and back of this bulletin). It is so
reassuring to see so many people wanting to come in person to celebrate the Eucharist. Along with our weekend masses we have daily Mass at St. Mary Church at 12.30, Monday-Friday and 9.30 am Mass at Holy Assumption on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. As we move into the winter we are ending the ‘Drive-To Holy Communion’ at both worship sites effective Sunday October 24/25 . If you are uncomfortable with attending a weekend mass, please consider a weekday mass. If you still feel uncomfortable with attending a weekday mass due to an underlying illness or because of mobility issues and would still like to receive Holy Communion, please contact the office and we will arrange for Holy Communion to be brought to you at home.
May God continue to bless you, your family and all you hold dear to your heart, and keep you safe and forever in God’s loving care.

“Faith in God asks us to renew every day the choice of good over evil, the choice of the truth rather than lies, the choice of love for our neighbour over selfishness.
Those who convert to this choice, after having experienced sin, will find the first places in the
Kingdom of heaven, where there is greater joy for a single sinner who converts than for ninety-nine
righteous people.” Pope Francis
Pope Francis, is his new encyclical “Fratelli Tutti”, talks about our need to recognize that we are all sisters and brothers to one another, that we have an inherent bond with each other that demands something of us — our love, respect and care.
He notes that, "for all the progress we have made, we are still 'illiterate' when it comes to accompanying, caring for, and supporting the most frail and vulnerable members of our developed societies. We have become accustomed to looking the other way, passing by, ignoring situations until they affect us directly" (Paragraph 64). Would you consider becoming a part of the solution? In today’s Gospel we hear Jesus say: “Many are invited, but few are chosen.” To give thanks for all that God has given to you, consider answering the call to help serve the poor by joining the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. We meet twice a month and welcome you to come and observe. Call 609-738-5455 to learn more and ask any questions.

This week you will be receiving a welcome email from your Catechist introducing themselves and getting some direction on how the class will be run. 1st-6th graders will be receiving an email from Christ In Us with a link to setup password. 7th-8th graders should have already logged into Decision Point to get a feel for the program. Most importantly please be patient as this is new to all of us in the office and Catechists at home. BLESSING TO OUR CATECHISTS AND AIDES Loving God, Creator of all things, you call us to be in relationship with you and others. Thank you for calling me to be a CATECHIST and AIDE, for the opportunity to share with others what you have given to me. May all those with whom I share the gift of faith discover how you are present in all things. May they come to know you, the one true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. May the grace of the Holy Spirit guide my heart and lips, so that I may remain constant in loving and praising you. May I be a witness to the Gospel and a minister of your truth. May all my words and actions reflect your love. Amen. BLESSING TO OUR STUDENTS Lord God, your Spirit of wisdom fills the earth and teaches us your ways. Look upon these students. Let them enjoy their learning and take delight in new discoveries. Help them to persevere in their studies and give them the desire to learn all things well. Grant that students and teachers alike may follow Jesus Christ, the way, the truth, and the life, for ever and ever. Amen.
The rich suffer want and go hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no blessing. [Psalm 34(33):11]

SAINT TERESA OF JESUS (1515-1582) October 15
Let nothing disturb you; let nothing frighten you. Gi ed with a passionate spirit, young Teresa dreamed of conver ng Muslims and becoming a martyr. All things are passing; God never changes. But her mother’s death when Teresa was fourteen inspired lifelong devo on to Our Lady, and Teresa entered the Carmelites, Mary’s order, despite her father’s objec ons and her own fragile health. Pa ence gains everything. Ini ally, she enjoyed her lax convent’s sociability and “busyness,”
but mys cal prayer and John of the Cross’s collabora on inspired her to reform the Carmelites. Whoever has God, lacks nothing. When her ideals encountered resistance and brought suffering, she maintained her peace-—and humor. Discovered devouring le overs, she told her mildly scandalized nuns, “When I fast, I fast! When I eat, I eat!” To nuns demanding less work and more prayer in the convent schedule, she retorted: “What we really need around here are fewer starry eyes and more strong arms!” God alone is enough! The italicized sentences here are her “Breviary Bookmark,” the simple, profound prayer of Teresa, the first woman Doctor of the Church. —Peter Scagnelli, Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.
The church is facing a “man crisis”. One in three Catholic men that have been baptized have left the faith. The Knights of Columbus produced a hard-hitting video series illustrating the gravity of our duty as Catholic men in today’s world. Click on the link to view the videos.
