June’s Virtue is Honesty
Honesty is being open, trustworthy and
truthful. When people are honest, they
can be relied on not to lie, cheat or steal.
Honesty is telling the truth. It is admitting
mistakes even when you know someone
might be angry or disappointed.

We are happy to announce that Education
Assistant, Mr. Martin Fox, will continue with
us until the end of the school year.
A very special welcome to Ms. Lisa Merpaw who is teaching Grade 2/3 and Miss Katrina Young
who will be filling the shoes of Mrs. Grant until the end of the school year. We wish Mrs. Luyten
and Mrs. Grant all the best as they begin their Maternity Leaves!!
A warm welcome to Mrs. Leslie Boerkamp who will join Mary Immaculate School as Principal in
September 2019. She is currently the Vice-Principal of St. Basil's School in Owen Sound. Mrs.
Boerkamp resides on a dairy farm near Listowel with her husband and two sons. She will be
bring a wealth of Innovation and Technology expertise to Mary Immaculate School.
We are sad to be saying good-bye
The Principal assignments for the 2019 - 2020 School Year have been announced. Mr. Brad
Lacey will join Sacred Heart Mildmay as Principal in September 2019. Mr. Lacey has enjoyed his
time reconnecting with the Mary Immaculate Community as Acting Principal. He was so easy to
settle in with our school family—we will miss his smile and high fives in the hall way. We wish you
nothing but the best in your new school Mr. Lacey!

Mary Immaculate Washroom Etiquette We have 125 students in our school on any given day. Washroom Etiquette is important here, just as it is at home. Students are reminded to flush the toilet after they have used it. Toilets that are left unflushed are not only uninviting for the next person who uses the washroom but can also be very smelly!! Yuck!! Hands need to be washed properly before leaving the washroom.
