Our school will use this feedback to include in our next planning cycle, which is much appreciated. Creative Kids and Active Kids Programs The NSW Government is helping kids get creative and active with the new Creative/ Active Kids program. Parents, guardians and carers can apply for a voucher with a value of up to $100 per calendar year for each student aged 4.5 to 18 years old enrolled in school. The voucher may be used with a registered activity provider for registration, participation and tuition costs for creative arts, speech, drama, dance, digital design, coding, and music lessons and activities. The voucher can be used at any time during the calendar year it was issued. The Active Kids program provides two $100 vouchers for parents, guardians and carers of school-enrolled children to use towards sport and active recreation costs each year. Voucher 1 is valid January to December and Voucher 2 is valid July to December. What you need A MyServiceNSW account (if you don’t have an account you can sign up after you select ‘Apply online’) and your child's Medicare card details. School Community Survey

Thank you to all school community members

PBL Focus: Being safe and

responsible in the play ground.

Kindergarten 2021

Our 2021 kindy students will be having their

third orientation session this Wednesday

Please note these sessions are for children

only. If you could please bring your child

through the Ashley Street gate and walk

them to the hall where you will sign your

child in and be greeted by the teachers.

Parents will then collect their child from the

same gate where they will be signed out.

Year 6 pool party day

Last week, Year 6 had a fantastic day at

Swansea Pool to celebrate the end of their

Primary School years. All children had a

wonderful day and their smiles said it all.

Thank you to Mrs Davis and Mrs Yeo for or-

ganising the day and to our wonderful of-

fice ladies who helped pull it all together so

quickly as restrictions were lifted.

Presentation Day - Thursday, 10 December,

9:30am

Due to COVID restrictions, students, their par-

ents and carers will need to be aware that

graduation and award ceremonies will be

conducted in accordance with the COVID-

19 Safety Plan for graduation ceremonies to

ensure a COVID-Safe environment for all at-

tendees.

Requirements include:

• Guests will be invited based on the total

number of people (this includes staff,

students, parents & carer or visitors) who

are able to be accommodated under

the 4 square metre rule.

• Maintain a record of names and con-

tact details for all attendees including

school staff and contractors for at least

28 days after the event.

• This record will only be used for the pur-

poses of contact tracing for COVID-19

infections and are stored confidentially

and securely.

• All attendees including students, staff

and guests attending are well and free

of any flu-like symptoms.

For seating arrangements, the school will

need to:

• Keep all students seated under the

COLA and family members will have to

spread out on the grassed area.

• Family members need to be prepared

for inclement weather e.g. hats, sun-

screen, chairs/rugs or wet weather

gear.

• Ensure there is enough space for dis-

tancing of 1.5 metres between non-

household members.

• External visitors will need to remain seat-

ed as much as possible to minimise min-

gling outside of non-household groups

or close friend groups.

• Students will need to bring their own

pens if they wish to sign yearbooks or

other items.

• External visitors will not be allowed

access to areas outside of the desig-

nated event venue and should leave

promptly at the conclusion of the

event.

Our Plans include:

Four major prizes awarded per class with two family members are invited to attend - prize

recipients' families will be notified by a phone call/email. Big Mumma's Pizza (thank you to

the Dunne family!) who are sponsoring a trophy (and voucher) to be given to one student

every year as an Encouragement Award. The new incoming Student Executive Team will

be allowed to have two family members attend this assembly. We thank you for your on-

going patience and support.

Kindergarten graduation and

Presentation Day - Tuesday, 8

December, 2pm - 3pm

Due to COVID restrictions our

2020 Kindergarten students

will be receiving their awards

and Graduation Certificates,

separately to other classes.

Each student is able to invite 3

adults to celebrate their

achievements in our Assembly

Hall. Any student who receives

one of the 4 major awards will

be celebrated with at the com-

bined Presentation Day on the

10th December.

2021 Student Leadership Team Speech Assembly - Wednesday 2 December, 12pm

The selection panel has reviewed the student leadership passport and application submit-

ted by the Year 5 students. and has determined that they will proceed to the next level to

deliver a speech to the whole school. The speeches will be held on Wednesday 2 Decem-

ber, at a special assembly at 12pm underneath the large COLA. Due to COVID-19 re-

strictions, parents will be required to spread out on the grassed area so will need to bring

their own chairs, water, sunscreen and maybe an umbrella (for rain or sun).

We are only able to invite two people per family per speaker to attend this assembly to be

in the audience as your child delivers their speech, of no more than 3 minutes in an effort

to persuade voters that they are the ideal candidate for a position on the 2021 Marks Point

Public School Student Leadership Team, thank you.

Aboriginal Consultative Education Group (AECG) Meeting - Tuesday 1 December, 6pm at

Windale Public School ($2 membership fee) all welcome!

The NSW Aboriginal Education Consultative Group Inc. is a non for profit Aboriginal organi-

sation that provides advice on all matters relevant to education and training with the

mandate that this advice represents the Aboriginal community viewpoint and the pursuit

of equality to ensure that the unique and diverse identity of Aboriginal students is

recognised and valued.

The staff from Marks Point Public School understand how challenging this year has been

and have been managing issues as they arise. The Department’s Complaint Handling

Procedures are displayed in the chart below.

P&C News

Pizza Day - our P&C are running two fundraisers this term. One is a ‘pizza

day’ which is being held on Monday 14 December at 12pm. All pizza order

forms and money is due by Friday 11 December and to be handed in to the can-

teen volunteers.

Christmas raffle - notes of items needed for the hampers and raffle ticket

books have been sent home with students. The hamper items and dentations

are due back to the canteen by Friday 11 December. Tickets are $1 each and

the raffle will be drawn on Friday 11 December at 2pm under the COLA by our

students.

Banking - last day of banking in Thursday 10 December

Canteen - will be closed in Week 10 (14 - 16 December)
