Thursday, August 12, 2010
1– Don’t wait for the last minute.
Think marketing early in the development if not before you even starting coding your application
Wouldn’t it be cool to have buyers waiting for you instead of looking for themat the last minute?
Lead generation anyone?

2– Make sure you define a target.
Repeat with me: “anyone” isn’t a target.
Being featured on Techcrunch is really cool... but won’t really help if you are selling a Yoga app.
Build a relationship with your target prior the launch of your application or you will just look like a spammer.

3– Start early and build momentum.
Create a brand: Logo + Website + Social Presence.
Promote discussion around your app domain on blogs and social networks.
Even one page, but make it look good
Build desire for your app and offer to highly visible people exclusive beta testing.

4– Make your app promote itself.
Example of in-‐app self promotion:
• require other people to download it in order to be used
• sharing the results of an action on social networks
• invite to rate the application itself
• invite friends to download the app

7– Don’t pull the price out of your a$$.
It should’t be a race to the bottom,it’s a race to see who makes the most money.
Research your market and your competition.
“My app is cheaper” isn’t a marketing strategy,it’s not about price, it’s about perceived value.
