In December, the KOSPI made a year-end rally by reaching 2,197.67 points, an increase of 5.25% from the previous month. In the aspect of technical analysis, it broke through the previous hike amid a remaining bullish arrangement of moving average lines, showcasing a positive trend.

The rally came from several favorable factors such as agreement on the U.S.-China trade negotiation and higher-than-expected OECD Composite Leading Indicator. Both

advanced and emerging stock markets were strong on the strength of fluent capital liquidity despite sluggish corporate earnings.

In January 2020, it seems that there will be a technical correction against the rally, while seeking additional increase based on expectations on the improvement of global economy.

The stock price of Woongjin Coway rose by 3.91% from the previous month to KRW 93,100 in December, paving the way for additional rally. In the technical aspect, it seems to enter a periodic correction amid a bullish arrangement of moving average lines.

The previous uncertainty was solved as Netmarble decided the takeover of Woongjin Coway stocks. Moreover, our stable growth in the domestic rental business, rapid growth of overseas business, and shareholder-friendly policy are still appealing to investors. We expect that these positive factors will allow our fundamental corporate value to be reflected in the stock price.

During December, the number of shares held by foreigners decreased 568,381 shares, or 0.77%, compared with the prior month. As of the end of December, they maintained 58.87% ownership. Domestic institutional investors marked net selling of 103,592 shares during the same period.

Launch the “Interior Air Purifier” boasting tailored air purification and emotional designWoongjin Coway launches a new product named “Interior Air Purifier (AP-1019D)” featuring air matching filter and luxury real fabric cover design.

Recently, home appliances in harmony with interior design are gaining much popularity. This trend applies to air purifiers as well. The Interior Air Purifier was developed to meet this trend.

This product has a 4-step filter system including air matching filter as well as PM2.5 collector filter, ensuring effective care of air and odor. Especially, air matching filter allows to replace PM10 collector filter, dual deodorization filter, new house filter, and exhaust filter every two months in accordance with spatial and seasonal conditions.

This new product features luxury design led by detachable cover which is well harmonized with interior space as well as powerful air purification. Users can select one of two colored fabric covers – sand beige and light warm gray – in accordance with their preference and interior atmosphere.

It also provides diverse user conveniences such as displaying the level of interior PM2.5 pollution in real time as numbers on the front panel and wirelessly charging smartphones.

Monthly rental fee is KRW 33,900 (based on KRW 100 thousand registration deposit) and lump-sum purchasing is available at KRW 950,000. Rental customers in December can use this product at KRW 29,900 monthly fee and receive both of two-colored fabric covers.

Lead the expansion of premium tankless water purifier marketWoongjin Coway launched “Hanppyeom CIROO Tankless Water Purifier,” a strategic product for 2020, with the aim of targeting the premium tankless water purifier market on December 3.

The domestic tankless water purifier market is divided into two sectors depending on filter type – “economic tankless water purifier” equipped with hollow fiber membrane filter or nano fiber filter and “premium tankless water purifier” equipped with RO membrane filter.

Currently, Woongjin Coway monopolizes the premium water purifier market thanks to the realization of direct water purification technology through RO membrane filter.

■ “CIROO 2.0 Filter,” a core technology for direct water purification

This new product is an upgraded version of CIROO Tankless Water Purifier which realized direct water purification by RO membrane filter for the first time in the industry.

The Hanppyeom CIROO Tankless Water Purifier adopted the CIROO 2.0 (RO membrane) filter which was developed in partnership with world’s renowned chemical firm Toray and is patent pending. The RO membrane filter is a core technology for direct water purification. This filter is around 8.5 times the size of nano fiber filter adopted to existing our economic tankless water purifiers.

Showcase voice recognition service for air purifiers in connection with KT’s Giga GenieWoongjin Coway initiated the voice recognition service for three kinds of air purifiers – Active Action Air Purifier IoCare (AP-0818A), Multi Action Humidifying Air Purifier IoCare (APMS-1516E), and Dual Power Air Purifier IoCare (AP-1515D) – in connection with KT’s AI speaker “Giga Genie” in order to improve customer convenience and manage indoor air quality in a more systematic manner.

This innovative service enables product operation, air quality and air volume control, and mode selection through voice. Major voice commands are “Turn on/off air purifier,” “How about air quality,” “Turn up wind power,” and “Set up automation mode.”

This service, especially, differentiate itself from that of other products in that alarm and action guides are offered to users through the AI speaker in case of heavy air pollution (yellow sand alarm, outdoor find dust alarm, and indoor air pollution alarm).
