LOW CARBON TARGETS

• UK Carbon Budgets – 50% reduction by 2025 from 1990 levels – 80% reduction by 2050 from 1990 levels

• European Commission /Union Targets – 20/20/20 Target

• 20% reduction, 20% Renewables, 20% more efficient

– Oct 2014 - binding EU target of an at least 40% reduction in GHG emissions by 2030 compared to 1990.
