Mark 70 SeriesSliding Gate Control Valves
The MK70 Series is a line of pneumatically-operated dia-phragm control valves that combine multiple spring ac-tuators with the precision of Jordan Valve’s advancedsliding gate seat for closer control and greater accuracy.
Jordan’s unique sliding gate control valve trim teams upwith pressure, temperature, pH, level, or flow controllersfor fast response, long term reliability, and high levels ofaccuracy on steam, gas, liquid and chemical services.
Consisting of a modulating disc and stationary plate,the sliding gate seat components are slotted with mul-tiple orifices that align to provide the precise flow neededto maintain the process requirements. The valve strokesin a fraction of the travel required by conventional con-trol valves for rapid correction of any deviation from theprocess setpoint.
This brochure includes the following Series:
• MK70: a line of pneumatically-operated diaphragmcontrol valves that combine multiple spring actua-tors with the precision of Jordan Valve’s advancedsliding gate for closer control and greater meteringaccuracy
• MK70PG: the MK70PG is a pump governor with itscontrol port connected to the pump discharge line.The valve throttles to maintain a constant pump dis-charge by controlling the steam flow to the pump.
• MK701/702: The MK701/702 is for higher capacityrequirements.
• MK707: The MK707 features an equal percentageflow characteristic.
• MK711: The MK711 is a linear control valve in sizesup to 6” (DN150) with Cv’s to 395 (339,7 Kv).
• MK74: The MK74 controls fugitive emissions whilereducing the risks associated with toxic, corrosive,explosive and high temperature fluids.
• MK76: The MK76 is a low profile, lightweight “on-off”control valve.

through 2” sizes (DN15 through DN50); 50 psi (3,45 bar) for2-1/2” through 6” sizes (DN65 through DN150)

Action• Direct (air signal closes valve)• Reverse (air signal opens valve)
Positioner: side or top-mounted positioners are available toovercome the normal hysteresis for a control valve and ac-tuator, and to ensure that the valve stem position is alwaysdirectly proportional to the control valve command signal. Seethe Positioner section for more details.

Mark 74 SeriesBellows Seal Control Valve
When dealing with clean air requirements, you need to feelconfident that you will receive long-term, leak-free performancefrom your bellows stem seal valves. You will find this assur-ance with the Mark 74 from Jordan Valve. The Mark 74 pro-vides exceptional bellows life with a valve stroke that is just afraction of that of other rising stem valves. This means Jor-dan Valve can use a smaller formed bellows that has minimalmovement during operation. With limited movement, the bel-lows is not subjected to excessive wear and fatigue — condi-tions that can quickly lead to failure in other designs. In ac-tual laboratory evaluations the valves tested exceeded twomillion throttling cycles in Class 300 service with no failuresof the SST bellows. You can expect the Mark 74 to providelong-term, dependable service to meet Clean Air requirements.
For compliance with the most stringent requirements ofthe Clean Air Act, the Mark 74 controls fugitive emissionswhile reducing the risks associated with toxic, corrosive,explosive and high temperature fluids.
• Long bellows life — in actual lab tests, the Mark 74 ex-ceeded 2 million cycles with no bellows failures
• Short stroke — with a valve stroke that’s just a fraction ofthat of other rising stem valves, the Mark 74 uses a smallerbellows that has minimal movement during operation. Withlimited movement, the bellows is not subjected to exces-sive wear and fatigue, conditions that can quickly lead tofailure in other valve designs
