A big change in the FCC will happen. Starting Monday, March 19, 2012, the School of Leaders and the Team Representatives meetings will be combined into one in order to achieve a joint purpose. The venue is the Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland.

****************************** Another big change in the FCC is happening. It was decided to add another Ultreya center in addition to the Oakland center, so that our cursillistas can truly

avail of the Ultreya in their 4th day. The new Ultreya center will be in the eastern portion of our diocese and will include group reunion teams that are located in that area. The following teams will be in the new Ulteya center: Antioch, Corpus Christi, Divine Mercy, Good Shepherd, Holy Spirit, Our Lady of Fatima, Our Mother of Perpetual Help, St. Patrick and Verbum Dei. Starting May 19, 2012, the East Ultreya will commence. The East Ultreya will be held at the Queen of All Saints Church in Concord on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Sis. Pat Camorongan is the Ultreya Coordinator.

ANNIVERSARY APRIL 28, 2012

THANK YOU LORD for sustaining us through the years.

Where it all began 40 years ago – Old St. Mary’s Church, Oakland, California. In the early & mid-80’s, Mt. Mary Immaculate, Lafayette, California was the site of Cursillo weekends. In the late 80’s & early 90’s, Cursillo weekends were held at the Salesian High School, Richmond, California. Since 1995, St. Anthony Claret, Clayton, California, has been the site of Cursillo weekends. In 2008, the Cursillo weekends were held at Angela Retreat Center. Today, the Cursillo weekends are held at St. Francis in Aptos, California. The Cursillo Weekends started on April 6, 1972.

FCC 40TH ANNIVERSARY

FCC 40th anniversary is on April 28, 2012 at St. Anne Church in Union City. Committees were assigned and should report on status/plans for their committees. The following are the committees:

OUTREACH

Sign up for Bro. Richard’s Visitation for year 2012 – all teams are asked to sign up twice (1 x a month.) If team rep is not here, Sis. Josie Herrera will assign the team to specific months.

ULTREYA

The Ultreya is a once a month traditional activity of the Filipino Cursillo Community that we want to continue for our spiritual enrichment. The February Ultreya was held last February 11, 2012 at the Cathedral of Christ the Light. The marriage witness talk by Sis. Lourdes Pons and Bro. Nelson Pons was very inspiring and a lot of lessons learned from the couple’s experiences. The next Ultreya is on March 10, 2012, Stations of the Cross. It will be held at the Cathedral, Christ the Light. *******************************

Together with our Spiritual Advisors and the Lay Directors, we thank our Rectors/Rectoras for leading us the way to our Lord during our three-day stay in the Cursillo House. We will always cherish the memories. We will never forget you.

The discernment for 2012 Understudy was held and attended by Sis. Penny De Leon, Sis. Edith Guevarra, Sis. Clarita Perez, Sis. Carmi Bernardo, Sis. Norma Acaba, Bro. Rey Dollette, Bro.Willy Villarente and Bro. Vic. Pediglorio. The following are the Understudy for 2012: Sis. Clarita Perez (WC Cursillo #87) Bro. Willy Villarente (MC Cursillo #88 SOL & CLW1 workshop is requested as preference to servers of WC#85 & MC#86. Servers on Piety and Study group will come from the SOL class. Servers Application Form was updated to add Team Reps Confirmation of Attendance. Service Cross for the Commissioning to be provided by 3DCC and Bro. Willy Villarente to procure 150 crosses and lanyard. Plan to recycle service cross. Formation Meetings scheduled at St. Anne, Union City was assigned to each cursillo weekend. Commissioning on April 21, 2012 at St. Anne, Union City. Orientation for both Men & Women on May 5, 2012. The Committee completed the critique of WC#83 & MC#84. Copy of Policy & Procedures, 3Day Weekend Activities was given to Bro. Anito, Bro.Willie, Sis. Thelma and Sis. Clarita for review.

The Cursillo Leaders Workshop-1 was held last February 17 through19, 2012 at St. Raymond in Dublin and was attended by our brothers and sisters. These are the remaining schedules of the School of Leaders for 2012. The program topics are divided into Doctrinal/Technical.

FCC Team Reps: 2012 Secretariat Election The Discernment meeting for our FCC 2012 election was held on January 29, 2012 at St. Anne’s Parish in Union City. It was planned and conducted by the Election Ad Hoc Committee, Sisters Irma Avellonosa, Corrie Budnik, Lolit Kintanar and Brothers Ernie de Paz, Vic Ramos and Deacon Steve Budnik. Nominees Brothers Mario Camorongan, Rene Dandan and Sisters Josie Herrera and Myrla Raymundo participated in the three hour prayerful and reflective discernment. At the end of the discernment, Bro. Mario Camorongan signed a document of consent placing his name on the ballot for the position of Lay Director and Sisters Josie Herrera and Myrla Raymundo signed documents of consent placing their names on the ballot for the position of Newsletter Editor. The election will be conducted by the Ad Hoc Committee during the March Team Reps Meeting. LAY DIRECTOR’S REPORT Mariposa – February 2012

De Colores my brothers and sisters! Let us give praise and thanksgiving to our awesome God for another year of rejoicing in His grace and love, and for the love and support of our brothers and sisters in Christ in our Filipino Cursillo Community. You are all a blessing and I thank God for you! As you all know, we will have our CLW1 workshop [Cursillo Leader’s Workshop] on Fri., Feb. 17th thru Sun., Feb. 19th, at St. Raymond’s in Dublin, CA. Sis. Penny de Leon, our School of Leaders chairperson, along with her committee members, have been working very hard to make this workshop possible. We thank Sis. Letty Sabiniano for being so generous with her time, along with the members of the Service Team: Bro. Oscar Tolentino, Sis. Margie Acol and Sis. Letty Carbonel. We are anticipating a good attendance, not only from our own diocese, but also from the diocese of Sacramento. On April 13th to 15th, four members of the Secretariat, including myself, will be representing the FCC, Diocese of Oakland at the Region XI Conference in Fresno. Invitation to attend the Spring conference is extended only to the members of the Secretariat of each diocese. However, in the Fall conference, all Cursillistas are encouraged to attend. Further information will be provided to the team reps at least three months before the event. As an active Cursillista, I am excited to be part of our FCC’s 40th anniversary.

To be part of this wonderful celebration on Saturday, April 28th, 2012 is something that I hope everyone will be looking forward to. Please mark your calendar and plan on attending. This is one historical event in our Cursillo movement not to be missed!!! Our voluntary love offering is ongoing. “God bless the cheerful givers!” Please have your check made payable to FCC, and turn it over to our FCC Treasurer, Sis. Edith Guevarra.
