Norship is a locally owned Australian company with a 70 year heritage across the Marine, Manufacturing and Engineering sectors.

Today Norship offers the full spectrum of shipyard services from concept design, prototype, construction and maintenance support through to docking, emergent repairs and complete refits of up to 600 vessels per year. The customer base has expanded to servicing coastal shipping companies, local government agencies, commercial workboats, tourist operators and private commercial sectors.

Norship is renowned for its marine engineering and manufacturing services, which are provided through onsite workshops. The experienced tradesmen specialise in remanufacturing driveline components, such as engines, gearboxes and tail shafts and can also provide custom machining and fabrication services.

Our experienced team have an uncompromising focus on safety, quality, security, environment and customer satisfaction across its services and products.

Our team includes: Experienced Senior Leadership Team: naval architects; certified engineers; accredited project managers; classification society certified welders and boilermakers; fitters/ mechanics; machinists; shipwrights; marine electrical and electronics technicians; painters & blasters and plumbers.

OUR PEOPLE

Norship Marine was established to support the boating and fishing communities of Cairns in the early 1980’s.

The original 160 tonne travel lift was complimented with the locally designed and constructed RF400 travel lift machine to lift larger vessels, in particular the Australian Navy and Border Force Patrol Vessel fleet. This means that tugs, multihulls, motor yachts and other large craft are now serviced at the facility.
