Penguins are birds that cannot fly, but they swim very well and spend most of their lives in the sea. Penguins look as though they are flying when they swim underwater or leap across the top of the waves. However, they lay their eggs and raise their chicks on land. There are different species of penguin, but they all live in the Southern Hemisphere.

Rockhoppers are the smallest of the penguins in Antarctica. Similar to Macaronis, Rockhoppers have a feathered crest on top of their heads.This specie is much more aggressive. Their colonies are found among rocky slopes of islands out near the Antarctic Convergence. Two eggs are typically laid, one smaller and one larger.
