• Marie Antoinette was born on May10th.

• She was born in Hofburg Palace in Vienna, the Archduchess Maria Antonia was the youngest daughter of the Empress of the Holy Roman Empire, Maria Theresa of Austria, and the Holy Roman Emperor, Francis I.

• She died at the age of 36 on September 21, 1792

Childhood• Marie Antoinette was born in Hofburg Palace in

Vienna, the Archduchess Maria Antonia was the youngest daughter of the Empress of the Holy Roman Empire, Maria Theresa of Austria, and the Holy Roman Emperor, Francis I.

• Her father died of stroke on August 1765

• In 1767, a smallpox outbreak hit the family. Antoine was one of the few who was immune to the disease due to already having had it at a young age. Emperor Joseph's wife, Maria Josepha, died first. Maria Theresa herself caught it and nearly died.

Life as a Dauphine• She was asked to marry Louis Auguste .

Her parents decidedly mixed them together. Luckily at the end they fell in love with each other after all.

• Their wedding took place on May 16, 1770, in the Palace of Versailles.
