María Fernanda García Martínez

Maria Fernanda Garcia was born in 1978 in Villavicencio Colombia. Since early age she was interested in joining praise groups in the church was she attended in her hometown where Maria demonstrated and realized her natural talent both for singing and artistic work with children.

Once her school studies were finished, Miss Maria moved to Bogota, the capital of the country with the aim of entering to the National Pedagogic University where she obtained her bachelor's degree in musical pedagogy in 2007.


During the years of her career, she studied vocal technique with the prestigious opera singing master Ramon Calzadilla (Cuba) and other important figures and scholars of Latin music. In the same way he became interested in the interpretation of the flute

She was part of the choir of the Philharmonic Orchestra and the Opera of Bogota Colombia from (1999-2004) and took part in several concerts.


but she was always fascinated by Latin American music and popular music of different genres, like jazz, bossa nova, latin beats like salsa and was so joined latin bands performing as solist with Yoruba Orchestra in “Salsa al Parque” in 2002; the most important salsa concert outdoors organized by the Institute of Culture and Tourism of Bogota Colombia with an audience of about 30,000 spectators.


She receive the offer to travel to UAE performing latin jazz, bossa nova, and other latin and international beats in several prestigious hotels and clubs around UAE like Rotana hotel (2004- 2006.)



Back at home, Ms Maria has gained experience working in various educational institutes specializing in the teaching of music not only with children. Among others, include private academies, kindergarten and High School in Bogota.(2007)


Currently, she is working as a vocal and piano teacher at Popular Music Institute in Dubai, preparing students for London College of Music and Trinity Examinations in Piano and Vocal.


She has given and vocal coach teacher in the choir church in Dubai (2009)

Performing in Television show “MBC 1” Dubai, singing and playing flute. 2010 and 2011.



Performing in the Jazz Festival 2010 – 2011 promoting the music School.


Also, Maria has taken part in diverse projects as recording a DVD with a band of Elvis Presley tribute.

Recently, in summer 2010 she has passed with a distinction in TVU advance graded examination in music performance popular music vocals grade 8.
