Expand an already exsisting brand
while staying true to their brand
aPProachCreate a women’s apparel &
accessory line to compliment C+
Yousoku’s existing menswear line that
consists of made-to-measure suits and
ms. ku
made-to-measure suits are more superior than rtW garments
because the garment is contoured to a specific customer from
their own measurements. Yousoku is special because they
have created a cost efficient way of manufacturing no. type
suits. instead of creating a new garment pattern for each
customer, they tweak already made patterns to fit the specific
customer based on their measurements.

Based on research across multiple
platforms, forecast a mega socio-
cultural trend with support from three
manifestations.
aPProachGeneration Alpha consists of the
children born after 2010 from parents
of Generation Z, children born after
1995. Both of these generations
are exposed to many technological
advances not available to generations
before. Gen A, more than Gen Z, is
exposed at a very young age and start
to familarize themselves. Soon, Gen A
will surpass their elder generation.

mega trenD maniFestations
• Children's lives are shaped by technology and consumerism
• Exposed to technology at a very young age
• Parent's of Gen A also products of a rising technological era
• 90% of Class of 2020 will complete highschool & 40% onto tertiary study
• Gen A will begin to take reins from parents by contributing to 36% of workforce in 2020
• Work longer & have an average of 5 careers in a lifetime
• As Alphas approach their 20s in 2030 their demand as workers will rise from today's
standards of 5:1 to 3:1
• Their education and skill gives hope for a prosperous future
• Average household income of $200,000 as compared to today's average of $50,000
• Due to increased time obtaining a degree & career, most women will post-pone
marriage and starting a family
• 1 in 3 Alpha women will not have children
• Alphas may wait up to 13 years after H.S. to have children, affecting aged pension
and social security, pushing them back farther.
• American demographics are changing due to past and current influx of Hispanic
immigrants
• In 2042 non-whites will account for 92% of the population
• Hispanics are known to be more liberal on certain cultural issues such as abortion and
gay-marriage. This affects overall core culture and re-shapes values over time

An independent collection inspired by
an era of time.
aPProachInspiration for this collection came
from watching HBO original series,
"Boardwalk Empire". In this series I
became fascinated with the women
and their characters. Their innocent
charm matched with modest, yet
fashionable dress made them
unsuspecting inst igators of l ies,
deciet, and scandal.

Costumes made and designed for East
Side Players’ theater production of “My
Son Pinocchio.” A set of four costumes
were made for “The Automatons” whose
characters traveled through time to help
guide Gepetto on his journey to find
Pinocchio.
concePtSteampunk was the main inspiration
for this look. The full circle skirt was
designed so the hemline resembled the
teeth on a large cog. Stitched onto the
skirt are a set of smaller cogs, roman
numerals, and a pair of Victorian clock
hands. To add to the overall futuristic
vibe and Victorian nostalgia, the look
was completed with a small top hat,
corset belt, angular arm bands and
shoulder shield.
