Key Dates This Month:

March 18 – SPW Speaker Series – Estate
Planning 101
March 2014
Wellness is a healthy balance of the mind, body and spirit
that results in an overall feeling of well-being.
Dimensions of Wellness
Wellness is more than being free from illness. Wellness is
a dynamic process of change and growth, and we’re here
to help you achieve that. There are many interrelated
dimensions of wellness; physical, emotional, intellectual,
spiritual, social, environmental and occupational. During a
fight against cancer, maintaining a level of wellness is
extremely important. Light-touch massage, Reiki therapy
or auricular (ear) acupuncture can minimize side effects of
cancer treatment and help you relax. Peace of mind can
come through research done in our library, while working
on a puzzle in the lobby can help ease your emotions.
Our Wellness Coordinator is on hand to help answer your
questions and guide you in your cancer wellness journey.
MIND BODY
SPIRIT

culmination of a long-time dream – a regional center for enlightenment
and encouragement along with state-of-the-art treatment solutions for
comprehensive cancer care.”
- Susan P. Wheatlake, Cancer Patient and Visionary

alternative medicine that is one of the oldest and most
popular in the world.

that massage may
lessen their pain,
nausea and
fatigue.
Relaxation and
Comfort:

you feel calm. This
lowers stress and
anxiety to improve
your mood.

help with digestion, faster healing and an increased
desire for food.

the Wellness Center. Volunteers deliver lunches to
patients and their family members receiving
treatment, and provide companionship while driving
patients to and from appointments through the Road
to Recovery program.
Volunteers also provide clerical support to staff
members. If you are interested in volunteering,
please visit www.spcetrumhealth.org/wellness-
