From The Pastor
Greetings in the Name of Jesus Christ,
Here we are in the midst of the Lenten season with many opportunities to
examine ourselves spiritually and seek out ways to grow in a deeper
relationship with Jesus. For myself, I am in the midst of doing five
different Lenten devotionals and I am in love with every one of them! It
has allowed me to grow deeper in my time with the Lord and seeking out
His face through prayer and challenging meditations. God has challenged
me to pray in a different manner that I have never done before. Recently
while doing laundry and washing dishes God spoke to me and said, “Have
you praised me for those jeans your are folding?” “Have you praised me
for the washing machine that cleaned those jeans?” “Have your praised
me for those dirty dishes that had food on them?” “Have you praised me
for the refrigerator that keeps your food cold?” It was an awesome
experience, but yet very humbling! Have you looked at the things around
you and given praise to God for them? Have you praised him for the
mundane things in your life? We are often quick to complain about doing
dishes, or whatever else, but are we quick in praise?
Another thing that I have noticed during this time is that I have been under
a heavy spiritual attack. I have found that anytime you become closer to
Jesus in your walk, Satan will come in and try to destroy your joy. This has
been happening a lot to me lately. Satan wants to put doubt in my mind,
Satan wants to make me feel as though I am not worthy enough, etc… But,
I remember where my strength comes from and it comes from the Lord.
Psalm 28:7 says; “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts
in Him and He helps me.” And also in Ephesians 6:10 it says; “Finally, be
strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.” When you have times of
struggle, remember where your strength comes from. Seek the Lord and
His Strength!
So, how has the beginning of your Lenten journey been? Have you been
able to find time to seek out God and ask for a renewing of your heart?
Have you allowed Him to lead you to the cross and sit at the feet of Jesus
and hear him cry out to you?
Allow God to work in your life and Keep Your Eyes on the Cross!
God Bless,
Pastor Scott

SAFE SANCTUARY TRAINING
At the 2014 Annual Conference, the West Ohio Conference voted that all churches in the conference must have a Safe Sanctuary Policy. Trinity already has a policy in place, but there are some components of the policy that need updated and some procedures we must follow as a church to keep our children and youth safe. One of the policies is that if an individual has any contact with children they must go through a training program, and also depending on the situation they may also need a background check. We hope that you‘re understanding of these policies and procedures are important for the whole church body, but most importantly for the protection of our children. Training dates will be posted at a later date and we appreciate your willingness to help in every manner to make this policy an important part of our daily life here at Trinity.
Hospitality Committee Needs Your Help
This Committee is always looking for volunteers to help in various ways. One of the most important ministries this
committee does is funeral dinners along with other special events or activities. There are several ways you can help! You can
donate food, work during a funeral dinner, donate money or even help by becoming the Chairman or Co-Chairman of this
committee. If you would love to help and become a part of this committee, please contact Carol Williams or the church office.
All In The Family
Trinity has been selected as one of eight churches
in our district to participate in this conference
ministry opportunity that takes a look at our
family ministries starting in January. All in the
Family was developed to equip churches in
leading dynamic children, youth and family
ministries and focuses on developing leadership
skills, teaching best ministry practices, and
implementing policies and procedures. If you have
a heart for the families along with the children and
youth of our church and would like to become a
part of this ministry, please contact Pastor Scott or
Josh. You will be hearing more about this ministry
throughout the year.
Administrative Assistant
The Administrative Assistant/Office
Manager position will become
available at the end of March or
beginning of April (depending on
when baby Utrup decides to make his
arrival). Anyone interested in this
part time position please contact
Pastor Scott or Jeff Hood.
NEW MEMBERSHIP CLASS
If you are not a member of the church and have been
attending Trinity and would like to become a member,
please contact Pastor Scott or the church office. A new
membership class is being formed and the dates will be
published later.
Lenten Wednesday Night Studies
I would love to encourage you to join us on
Wednesday Night during the season of Lent
for a Study titled “Journey to the Cross.”
This Study is by Adam Hamilton and will
take us from the time Jesus shared a meal
with his disciples up to the point of his
crucifixion. There is a book that you can use
for this study that includes daily
meditations. I hope to see you there during
this time as we journey together to the cross.
