Christmas Concert

On December 20th, 2012, we had our

Christmas Concert. The theme was “All

Around the World.” Grades K to six all sang

at least two songs from different parts of

the world. We were very successful. A spe-

Christmas Breakfast

On the 21st of December, we had San-

ta’s Breakfast. Santa's Breakfast is the last

day of school before Christmas holidays. As

a school we ate a brunch. We had a profes-

sional baseball player for the Blue Jays visit

us as well. We all ate sausages, eggs and

pancakes. The whole school was there.

Everybody had a great time enjoying them-

selves.

Science News in the classroom

Clubs and Teams

Every year, Jen from Wisest visits the

grade sixes in our school. Jen comes

at the end of every month. Wisest is a

science company for women. Jen

comes to do some of our science cur-

riculum. It is super fun. One time we

even built rockets and robots. She also

talks about science jobs. She tells us

we can be anything we want to be.

Next time Jen comes, be sure to say

hi!

Lunchbox social

On February 11th our schools hosted an annual Lunch Box Social. During this the grades, four to six and volunteers from 7,8,9,10, get to create and design a lunch box,. Inside the box they pack healthy snacks for the younger children in the Anzac school. We had enough to make every child enjoy their snacks. They also had time spend with their gift givers. We would also like to thank the positive school climate committee and other staff members for arranging this fabulous event. Thanks for supporting this event.

Around school: Science Fair

February 1st, 2013 was the school science fair. Grades 1 to 6, and a few

people from junior high, participated. Many science fair projects, from volca-

noes to static electricity, were displayed. We walked around and saw each

other’s projects. Each project was well displayed and very unique. Much pride

and effort was put into their work. Numerous experiments were put in with

some projects, while others were informational. Everyone did an amazing job

on their projects and we are looking forward for the regionals, and the

following science fair next year. Story by Kalie and Pictures by Rikki

Puppet show

On February 19th, Anzac welcomed members of Fort Mcmurray library to the

school. They came to the school to present the puppet show “Puss in Boots.”

Mrs. Pratt read the story to us as the puppets acted out the story. We all had a

very good laugh and enjoyed the humor and playfulness of the hand actors.

Thanks for coming to our school and thanks to Mrs. Pratt, plus all those in-

volved, for helping set this up.
