Monroe County native, James Comer, was a Kentucky State Representative for over 10 years representing the counties of Green, Metcalfe, Cumberland and Mon-roe. James is a lifelong farmer and is the founder and owner of James Comer, Jr. Farms, a 950-acre beef cattle, timber and hay farming operation. He is a graduate of Western Kentucky University with a
degree in Agriculture and was the Ken-tucky FFA State President (1990-1991).
In addition to a successful farm-ing operation, James has experience in two other start-up businesses. He formed Comer & Polston Insurance, Inc. and CFB Foods, Inc. Comer’s experience in three different diversified businesses led to his political path in Frankfort, and
his being widely considered as one of the most conservative, pro-business leg-islators in Kentucky. As a result of his strong conservative and business friend-ly stance on the issues, James received numerous awards including the 2002 National Freshman Republican Legis-lator of the Year Award, the 2003 Jay-cees Outstanding Young Kentuckian, the 2004 National Federation of Independent Business’ Guardian of Small Business Award, and the 2009 Western Kentucky
University Alumnus of the Year. His most recent accomplishment was being elected Kentucky Commissioner of Agri-culture by an overwhelming margin in November of last year. He is married to Tamara Jo (T.J.); and they have three children, Reagan, Harlan and Aniston.
Commissioner Comer will speak on the importance of agriculture to Kentucky’s economy and where he sees in the Commonwealth’s future regarding the agriculture industry.

Cape Air & Owensboro-Daviess County Regional Airport co-sponsoring March Rooster Booster
Now in its 23rd year, Cape Air is one of the largest independent regional airlines in the United States, annually flying over 650,000 passengers to destinations around the world. Domestic destinations include New England, New York, and Florida, as well as cities in the Mid-Atlantic and the Midwest, while international destinations include the Caribbean and Micronesia.
With a fleet of 64 Cessna 402s and two ATR-42s, the employee-owned company operates up to 600 flights per day. Based in Hyannis, Massachusetts, Cape Air also operates flights under the Nantucket Air-lines brand. Cape Air is a codeshare part-ner with Continental Airlines (soon to be United Airlines) in the Caribbean, Ameri-can Airlines in the Midwest, and oper-ates as Continental Connection or United Express in Micronesia. In addition, Cape Air has ticket and baggage agreements with most major airlines.
Make our customers happy and have a good time doing it, or “MOCHA HAGo TDI,” is Cape Air’s mantra, and this unique brand of customer service has earned the airline accolades such as “Best Airline” on Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard, as well as in the United States Virgin Islands. The airline has been rec-ognized for outstanding philanthropy in the communities it serves, and Cape Air Founder and CEO Dan Wolf was a recipi-ent of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year™ Award.
Cape Air is proud to add Owensboro to its list of cities served, and is now making Owensboro travelers happy by offering frequent flights to St. Louis with fares as low as $49.99 each way. MOCHA
HAGoTDI, happy flying, and for more information on fast and easy service to St. Louis and beyond, visit us at www.capeair.com.
The Owensboro-Daviess County Regional Airport Authority (OWB) is gov-erned by a 10-member Board appointed by Daviess County Fiscal Court and the Owensboro City Commission. OWB’s amenities include 8,000 ft. and 5,000 ft. runways, a control tower staffed 365 days per year, and 178 acres of available land for development. Three fixed based operators provide fuel, maintenance and hanger services for the aviation commu-nity and 56 aircraft call OWB home.
With OWB’s newly constructed, rein-forced 8,000 ft. runway and the newly constructed Kentucky National Guard Armory located on Airport property, OWB is recognized as the primary Read-iness Center for Western Kentucky in case of a major disaster such as an earth-quake.
OWB is a full security airport with more than 40,000 departures and land-ings annually, including nonstop Allegiant Airline flights to Orlando and Las Vegas, the two most popular vacation destina-tions in the United States. Cape Air offers 36 departures and arrivals per week to St. Louis, which allows the business traveler to connect to almost any national destina-tion and many international destinations.
The Owensboro-Daviess County Regional Airport is an economic develop-ment tool for Western Kentucky, a con-nection to the world for its regional resi-dents and a source of pride for Daviess County.
