2nd Sunday of Lent Today’s gospel presents the familiar story of the
transfiguration. Peter, James and John were awe struck
by the appearance of Jesus and by the words that the
voice of God spoke: “This is my beloved Son, with
whom I am well pleased; listen to Him." Listen to Him.
This message is for us. Pray for the grace to be open to
God’s word, to be transfigured into a courageous
messenger of God’s love.

Sunday, March 29 at 7:30pm
Dominique Dodge is a harper and singer who grew up in
the White Mountains and now divides her time between
New Hampshire and Cape Breton. Her new album, “Cànan
nan Teud” (The Language of the Strings) features
archivally-sourced Gaelic songs from Cape Breton and
explores the relationship between Puirt-a-Beul (mouth
music) and traditional dance music. A deep love of Gaelic
music and culture brings this music to life through a
combination of harp, sing and story for all who enjoy
traditional music. Please join us for this very special
inspiring evening.
Tickets are available for advance purchase through
Online Giving ($13), may be purchased by check at the
Parish Office (check payable to St. Mary Church with
Dominique Dodge in the memo line) or may be purchased
at the door on the night of the event.

study we examine the gifts that Christ
gave at his crucifixion. These include not
only the gift of the cross, but also the gift
of the thorns, the nails and the empty
tomb. The cross is rich with God’s gifts
of grace, and as we unwrap them, we will
hear him whisper, “I did it just for you.”

FESTIVAL EASTER
CHILDREN’S CHOIR
It is time to begin rehearsals
for the Festival Easter
Children’s Choir. Children
ages 8-13 are invited to join.
Rehearsals will be held on the following Sunday
evenings from 6:00-6:55pm in the Church: March 8, 15,
29 and April 5. The children will sing at the 10am
Mass on Easter Sunday, April 12. We hope many young
people will join the choir to triumphantly proclaim
through song Christ’s glorious resurrection. For more
information please contact Jane O’Keefe at
[email protected] or leave a message at
the Parish Office.
Easter Choir
If you’ve considered joining the 10am choir but were
afraid of the time commitment, you are welcome to add
your voice for the Liturgies of the Sacred Triduum.
There will be four rehearsals taking place on the
following Sunday evenings from 7-9pm: March 8, 15,
29 and April 5. The Liturgies of Holy Week are nothing
new to us. Take the opportunity to experience these
ancient rituals from a fresh perspective by singing about
Christ’s triumphant procession into Jerusalem on Palm
Sunday, the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday, the
Crucifixion on Good Friday that is overcome by the light
of Christ and His victory over death at the Easter Vigil.
The choir is a 30 member SATB group whose members
range in age from teens through 80-something. You do
not need to be able to sight-read to become a member.
All are welcome to join this wonderful group of singers.
For more information contact Jane O’Keefe at

Today’s Reflection
During this penitential season, we make a conscious effort to avoid sin and be faithful to the Gospel. In last Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus journeyed into the desert and was tempted by the devil. Today Jesus climbs a high mountain on which he is transfigured in front of His closest disciples. Whether isolated in the wilderness or accompanied by friends on a mountaintop, Jesus remains faithful to the will of God. May He be a model for us.
